    Campagnolo Compact Crankset - Silver

Re: I have some tatty Veloce cranks for compact but only the inner chainring and no bolts (do have the axle bolt, mind). However they are 172.5. Coincidentally I was going to put them up for sale today. EDIT - oops, just seen I need to include a price and pics in replies. Pics and £ this...

Do 44-46cm bars exist for 25.4 clamp?

Centre-to-centre that is. Would prefer 46 but I fear old skool bars all tend to be narrow.

Vintage road ride March 30 Amersham poss with 1980s legend

I'll pass on the official details when they emerge, but for the mo save the date. As part of the "launch" day for this year's http://www.chilterncyclingfestival.com/ there's a ride for all you vintage fans, with the intention of getting some nice pics of us in full (preferably 1987) regalia...

Vintage pedals and front mech, unvintage longish stem

Being very good at buying the wrong thing I have the following objects to sell. A pair of Olimpic XXII pedals - missing the brand stickers, kinda quality Campag copies I believe. A pair of Lyotard 136R pedals with Christophe toe clips. The toe clips are the wide-mount ones you need for these...

Old (ish) cyclocross bikes... what are they?

Oo, thanks for that! A problem I have is seeing people on eBay describing their bike as a crosser in the title, but when you read the description it seems all they've done is put fatter tyres on a regular old road bike. My assumption was an official cx would have a higher bottom bracket and not...

Old (ish) cyclocross bikes... what are they?

Because I'm not sure how much use my 1982 Peugeot will get, I'm thinking of selling it to fund something a tad more rugged that I can take down bridleways etc as well as roads, and would prefer something designed (rather than tweaked) for cyclocross. It would be nice to keep in the retro vein...

What bar tape was used on early 80s Peugeots?

Must get me eyes tested. And buy some black cotton tape.

What bar tape was used on early 80s Peugeots?

Re: Re: Blimey, you have superb eyesight! I just see black stuff of indeterminate material. Mine's the Routier in that brochure. I'm happy to go black cotton if that's the original spec.

What bar tape was used on early 80s Peugeots?

I need to replace the tape on my 1982 Peugeot PKN10. When I first taped the bars I used white cotton as it's obviously retro, but I suspect manufacturers had moved on from cotton by then. What would it have worn when the original owner wheeled it out of the shop? I'm presuming Benotto shiny...

Weinmann 405 brakes - worth an upgrade?

Not sure whether to bother really, but my 1982 Peugeot has Weinmann 405 calipers which strike me as being a bit of a low end model, and wonder whether something superior would be better when hooning down a Chiltern. Is there a big difference between the stopping ability of single pivot brake...

    Wheel fixers in Bucks/NW London

Thanks, Richie. Good point, I've had great service from Stows in the past (and they have that smashing gold centenary Raleigh wotsit hanging up to look at).

    Wheel fixers in Bucks/NW London

Can't quite work out what's wrong with my rear wheel, but it could well do with a good dishing. Can anyone recommend a retro wheel whisperer in the Amersham/Wycombe/Uxbridge area?

WTD - Pedals with toeclip & straps

I have some Lyotard 136, which I bought as the correct brand for my 1982 PKN10. The clips are M, so the pic shows them with some rubber washers I used as spacers to make them better for my L feet. Clips and pedals barely used. However I want to keep the straps. £12 posted.

Clip vs pedal spacer - any ideas?

You're probably right, but it is a minor compromise IMHO. The problem with getting the longer toe clip however is that these pedals have particularly wide fixing points and are thin on the ground. I've already discovered that the nice aero-style pedals I own are also unusable as the requisite...
