Re: Actually my measuring was correct, just my memory of the result that was wrong. Oops. Duh. Anyways I'm not bothered about authenticity but don't want to drill holes in the frame for Allen bolt fitting, so I guess might be worth looking for nut fixing duals.

So if I had these... would I feel any benefit "upgrading" to these which seem to come under various brand names I'm not familiar with - Alhonga and Longus and probably others, and read somewhere that modern deep drop brakes might be a bit "flexy". Andrew

I'm looking for a bike for both on road and light off road use (crosser or gravel bike in modern parlance I guess), but my budget stretches to whatever I can make from selling my 1982 Peugeot PKN10 (Reynolds 531, 22"/56cm). So if anyone fancies a straight swap before I eBay it do let me know.

For various feeble reasons I'm stuck with a 6 speed block on my Peugeot. Might it be that old 7-8 speed brake lever shifters would work with it?

Re: Well I took photos, but due to the amazing fact that my phonecam is 21mpx the pics need resizing and I can't do that just now. Also I can't find the axle bolt (or wtvr we call it) despite it having been left beside the other bits :(. Anyways, the asking price is a tenner plus postage.
