Thanks for all the replies, its great to find out the history of MTB's in the UK! The question now is, presuming the bike is very rare, should it be left as is, or carefully restored?

A colleague of mine has a Saracen that he has had since the dawn of time (about 1984) and wanted to find out a bit of info on it. There is no model name on it and the Saracen is in red vynl lettering on black paintwork. Apparently Saracen is also stamped into the frame near the seatpost...

I'm trying to slowly gathering parts to renovate my old 1998 LTS 2000 (the one with the curved seat tube), however the bike is in storage at the mo, so can't get to it to measure the diameter of the seat tube to replace the old allen bolt seat clamp for a QR version. I have seen on the web...

Sorry if this is too far off topic, but as Klein's are no more here and so few of these are around then hopefully it will be a classic one day! Anyhow, the time has come to move on from my trusty Palomino as I want a longer travel bike. This rig is amazing, very light, climbs like a goat...
