1991 Otis Guy fillet brazed #138

Long time and no progress - and then bom! Finished. I finally found some great rims to fit to the black WTB Classic grease guard hubs - the Araya RM-14 in silver. The narrow racing rims are suited for this classic steel hard tail - in my eyes the ultimate retro bike and the bike I would choose...

Price drop ! Ritchey Vantage Comp / XT 730, 732 wheelset

I am wrong, not them: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/gallery2/v/M ... 7.JPG.html I believed that Shimano kept the 730 rear hub as their 130mm OLD hub, and 732 was 135mm OLD, but in 1989 they discontinued the 730 rear hub.

Funny, no u-brakes or roller cams this month. Is that the normal?

    Now IDed Clark Kent

Re: (VERY) Intriguing TI Frame... ID please ? Yeah, just a quick name before I had to go to bed. The stays are very distinctive, not so hard to tell when you know. Erik Five have written something about CK and his (former one) here: https://www.vintagemtbscandinavia.com/b ... nt-f16-039

    1989 Mantis Valkyrie

Thanks Tim - but I have to tell - the first bike is different than the others. I found another frame and got it repainted - the first one is still alive in these colors.

    1989 Mantis Valkyrie

I can agree with that - the Valkyrie is a bit more complete maybe? I think the differences would be a lot smaller with the same build kit, the all black on the Valkyrie adds a bit more mystery to it I think.

Thanks Shamus. Sorry I totally forgot to answer you here. For a while I must admit that I believed it would be a bit too wild. I had the main idea here, but it sure was Haralds vision and final touch that made it what it is today. The ride? It sure is nice. The fork suits the bike so well...

    1988 IRD Semi Stroker

Thanks - I'm good... Tom is pretty optimistic with some of his prices, but there seems to be people buying at high prices, so...

    1988 IRD Semi Stroker

I bought this directly from Rod, and I think he did the paint or he has a guy that does it. He was not happy about the seat stay mounted Rotary brake on this one, so he re-welded it to canti bosses. He tried to strengthen the seat stay and even tried with dual brake arches without success before...

    1988 IRD Semi Stroker

Well, this can be pretty fun. The 1988 or so IRD Semi Stroker, built by Rod Moses for his wife Belinda. Originally, this was the only IRD bike with a seat stay mounted U-brake, but Rod re-welded it to use it with Widget brakes. Works better he says. Probably right, but I would love to use it...

    1989 Mantis Valkyrie

Slowly making progress. I believed I could finish it, but there is an issue with the rear derailleur hanger that needs to be sorted out. Until that is done I can at least imagine how it will be.

Thanks. I hope the all black build will be ok here, but let's see... Can go both ways. I even have all black XT thumbies for it ;)
