    i just wanted ask . . . is it me? or . . .

A friend recently bought a used car from one of these car supermarket places and wasn't sure it sounded right, so sought my advice. They took me for a spin and something wasn't right with the front suspension which was, I told them, "knocking like Jimmy Savile on an orphanage door." Not exactly...

Folders! Foldable bicycles, minivelos and demontables

Most define a folding bike as one that folds in 2 places and has wheels of no greater than 20 inches. What boils my wee a little bit is that there are all these restrictions on folders, wheel size, frame fold, must be folder before taking it on a platform...then the next person along wheels a...

Folders! Foldable bicycles, minivelos and demontables

Decent machines, oft used by lowland SAR teams in the UK. Downside for someone like me is that most rail companies have a definition that a folding bike must adhere to, and that usually includes 20" wheel size maximum.

home trainers, swift etc, talk to me!

I'd rather have a bit of how's your father with a woman than with a blow up doll. And so it is with cycling. But if others prefer it and are willing to accept that certain aspect of their riding abilities will degrade from lack of use, then that's their call. It'd be a dull world if we all did...

home trainers, swift etc, talk to me!

Much like me. Mrs CTEC bought me a Tacx for crimbo a few years back and I just don't dig it - after half a dozen goes it went back in the box and under the workbench. Fair play to those that use them, just didn't tug my rug is all. The other issue is that while your legs and lungs get a stretch...

You're not alone. The older I get (I'm 55 in a couple of weeks) the more people just f@#£%^& annoy me intensely, the more I just want to be away from them. I walk around with a permanent scowl because people just don't know how to behave, everything from rudeness to pavement parking throughto...

rear cycle light a bit too bright

I would guess - and it is just a guess as I have no expertise - that rear lights don't pose quite such an issue as they would generally be travelling away from the observer. Nevertheless, the same optical principles apply so I could foresee problems in a traffic rich environment where the...

rear cycle light a bit too bright

Actually it can, in particular the front light. Honda, who own one of the world's largest searchlight manufacturer so have first class expertise in optics to draw upon, and Suzuki did research into daytime light usage in thec1980s, just as DRLs started to become a thing with by legislators...

Middle of the night pedal bashing

Not particularly. However, when I was working one of my shifts meant a 2am ride home for a week every month. Owls, deer, badgers, ravers, doggers and cottagers (was once offered a hand job by a cross dressing bloke, which I politely declined), thieves, loonies, and just occasionally other...

    Cyclists who kill

Not after a couple of days I don't. It was either the road safety charity Brake or ONS, id have to have a play with our friend Google again to find it.

    Anyone interested in learning languages?😀

As well as Engerlish I speak passable Gaelic and Spa smattering of German. Always fancied learning Cornish for some reason. My grandad spoke Cornish, so I guess that's where the seed was sown. I can understand Cockney, but don't speak it well myself due to years spent at public school.

Fantastic. I'm old enough to remember when Raleigh mopeds and Wisps were a common sight.

    CBD drinks

Mrs Chopper has MS and has tried various CBD products - they did fark all for her. Might be different for anxiety, but for her neurological illness it had less effect than ibuprofen.

    No helmet, less compensation

Your chances of death are greater while walking than cycling, and we don't get armoured up when walking from the car to the shops. Indeed, having then been involved in a crash your chance of subsequently dying by head injury (not chances of death overall) is greater for front seat car occupants...

    Just gone into business

"Build" can have many meanings in this regard. I bought the body and neck, and did all the ageing of myself. Some folk machine or carve their own but that's beyond my equipment and abilities. Fortunately the market demands almost entirely Fender clones, and off the shelf bodies and necks of...
