    Orange P7 Touring edition

Just logging a few pics of my recently finished Orange P7 converted to long-distance tourer. Built up from scratch, chemically stripped the frame, polished and then sourced new or old parts from eBay etc. As far as I can see these late 90's steel-framed, rigid MTBs tick every possible box for a...

    Eroica Brittania where is it?

Terrible idea, terrible location. Whether Bakewell residents put pressure on event to move away, or councillors started imposing restrictions and fees, I don't know. But the results is that fewer people will want to be a captive punter in a field in the middle of nowhere for 3 days, me included.

96 Saracen Protrax SE - strip and rebuild

Yes, 27.2 mm seatpost, though mine is shimmed (to 25.4 I think). Although it has the original saddle and post from the 96 catalogue so I guess the shim was original spec too.

My Holdsworth Super Mistral - finished

Bit of a mongrel collection of components, stuff I had left and some choices to make about what worked and what didn't work. Wanted 700c wheels, but it's a 27" fork clearance, so the deep drop brake callipers are a compromise although they are brilliant stoppers. Since it was never going to be a...

96 Saracen Protrax SE - strip and rebuild

My first Saracen, love it so far - gorgeous Racing Green, looks pretty mint. Decided to strip completely and polish. 8 coats of Green Turtle Colour Magic later . . .

    Early Saracen Lovers Anonymous......

Just brought this Saracen Protrax SE home with me, I love the geometry of these 90's hardtails and love the colour too. Didn't know much about Saracens until I googled them after seeing this. Just always associated the name with rather shit bikes sold by Halfords. What a shame they let the name...

    1955 Holdsworth Monsoon build

Don't know who did the paint job. I bought the frame as it is now. Haven't managed to progress much with building it up yet though. Bought some Velo Orange rims, Campag hubs and some other bits and pieces, but still trawling through a parts list on eBay. Been busy with some other bikes also...

    My Olmo Competition - Campagnolo

Thanks, saw them on a stall at L'eroica last year, at a stupid price, but thought "I need to have those".

    My Olmo Competition - Campagnolo

Hi, I don't know how original it is to be honest, bought it last year and have just tidied and replaced some components, added the pantographed cranks, new bar tape, new cables, repainted lug windows to match bar tape, and upsized the cassette.

    Top Gear stunt

Re: Re: No Jon, I was too busy waiting in the 'sense of perspective' queue. That said, I totally agree that the whole Top Gear production team were obviously too stupid to realise that the sequence was ill-judged. But that's all, stupidity, not a reason for the critics to jump on the morality...
