    Another DIY rear derailleur cage.

not yet, this is just a prototype to play with different positions of the pulleys and check which one works better. Final version will have a nicely shaped outer and inner cages as similar as the original as possible, that is the goal. But for now I,m interested to check functionality for a 34...

    Another DIY rear derailleur cage.

Hi there I was determined to fit a 5 speed 14-34 freewheel (that I nicely got from a member of this forum) on my Colnago Super with a gen1 Super Record RD. I'm aware there is the Rally RD for that purpose, and also some other diy builds from the 70's and later, incl. a nicely build rd cage from...

Thanks. But if you have a cheap italian threaded 6 speed I'm also interested in both, so one of them or both will work!

Wanted 6 speed freewheel 14-34 italian thread

Thanks Foreigner. I'm looking for something with 34t as biggest cog, 5 or 6 speed, italian threaded ideally. My rear hub is 126mm, 6 speed should fit but 5 speed will be safest option. I'm affraid I don't have a spare 6 speed freewheel with me to test. The frame is from 1977-78. The 7 speed...

    1980s Somec Special (Finished 2)

That will be a lovely bike. Somec's are very respected, and not as common as other brands , so yours will get some curious eyes onto it ;) I own a "telaio 002" model from 1983 (columbus SL with Air fork) but can't help with the spokes as my rims are not the original ones (prev owner preferred a...

    Colnago Super 1977 project

Just received a nice wheelset from Italy for the build . A pair of Nisi Countach Mercurio d'Oro 1977 rims on Super Record hubs, and 126mm spaced. I will sell the 120mm spaced ones I bought by mistake;( if anyone interested. I have also a 14-32 Regina Synchro 7 speed freewheel for the climbs and...

    Crank about to crack?

I've seen a lot of these stress cracks but never a broke there. What I've seen many times to break apart is the arm itself by the middle. It happened to me! Anyhow, it's a common bit so wise to replace it as adviced here

    Unknown Frame ... need help

I agree for italian. Chainstays tubing is peculiar, maybe columbus MAX ? Also set post lug reminds me a columbus MAX bike I owned. Straight fork with no id is confusing though. Colours are very italian indeed. Has potential to be a nice bike....

    Colnago Super 1977 project

I have a SR titanium spindle and new bearings with no matchin cups... but tody a "new" BB arrived, a titanium 114 mm OMAS, that was a nice & stronger replacement for the ealry titanium super record bb during late 70's and 80's. Not in super condition, but threads and bearing are very well. I...

    Colnago Super 1977 project

This skeewer has a straight lever and the closed C, and this brass "thing" that is key. (like old 50's-60's gran sport) . So dated between 1963 and 1977, but can anyone help me to be more precise please ? trying to see if it matches the colnago super but I'm affraid more late 60's than late 70's...

    Colnago Super 1977 project

Thanks for the feedback. No clue yet what will be the final result , not in a hurry as need to sell some other stuff to get funding but again I'm learning a lot on bottom brackets and pre-post 78 stuff. Just bought a pre-78 titanium spindle (113 mm for italian) but came with steel record cups...

    Colnago Super 1977 project

Thanks for the feedback. Taking into account the RD is pat77, should it better be build then with no-lip FD, straight skeewers and "short" pre 78 spindle then ?

    Colnago Super 1977 project

Hi I'm starting a new project. I bought a "new bike", got tempted because it was my size, and just stripped it all down and cleaned the frame. Only period correct left was the headset ;) rest were really modern components but I already have some campy parts waiting for a project like this so...
