How are you treating the rust? Wire brush first I guess but then what? Fine wet and dry will clean the tops of the surface but how to remove rust from the pits? Chemical approach?

How are you going to finish the frame and forks? Stove enamel?

Patience pays off in these projects. You simply can't rush them. Very rewarding when they come together though.

Yes, I can see the stars on the decal. Yes, lack of braze-ons was a big feature although the front fork light bracket was a long-lasting feature of many of their frames.

Nor is it an Olympic which always seems to have the round tube wrap-over seat stay detail.

This is a nice respectful update on a classic bike. Does anyone know what model that is?

Thanks for replying. Why do you say the San Remo Equipe was made only in 1972 and 1973? My understanding is that model ran from 1962 to 1979. What is the provenance of the bike and do you have some comprehensive photos please? Many thanks.
