BB Bearing cup cross threading / Drive side

If you want to salvage the frame and out of options, provided youve got access all the way through the BB cups, you could carefully saw through the cup til close to thread then collapse in on itself with gentle hits. Chase and face everything afterwards

Park race stand mods for modern rigs (BRING OUT YOUR STANDS…)

As of now the plan is to fit a pole into folding stand and fix a clamping arm to it. Apart from pole being wrong OD reckon it can be done : )

Park race stand mods for modern rigs (BRING OUT YOUR STANDS…)

After more bikes, enough was enough, got a park tool folding stand that had a good sturdy base, was happy with this till through axles, longer wheel base and all manner of other bike changes happened, now its time to try and sort things again.

Park race stand mods for modern rigs (BRING OUT YOUR STANDS…)

In the early days it was a fence post, gate, table, chair whatever was at hand, then after a while something better was needed, I had a go at making some kinda wall clamp thing using bar ends, spirit level and assorted thread bar, aluminium, anything at hand. If anything it gave me plenty of...

    Ball Burnish polishing…

Have had a number of frames acid dipped for paint removal, then inspect them for cracks, damage etc then returned to get powder coated, the company that does this is a car wheel refurbish company, they repair, polish or paint car wheels, so lend well for doing bike frames amongst other stuff...

Re: underside of the fork crown, though I don't know how much room you have, handle bar end plugs, Hope ones have an expanding rubber plug whereby as you tighten the bolt it squashes out the rubber plug. Hardy way to colour crank arms

Re: Sticky back plastics can work fine with flat & slow curved surfaces, but deep grooved shapes that are on CNC'd cranks, then It gets a bit hitand miss. A 2k lacquer may help in addition to any colour coating. Generaly easier to go with a raw alluminium on wear areas, but some prefer to...

Front wheel axle length longer than 110mm PICS ADDED

Looked into fatbike axles and yes they do a 9mmx135 QR, however they don't have sufficient thread for the bearing race as they use sealed bearings. For a fat bike axle to work I would have to thread the hardened steel axle with M9x1.0 die by hand, bugger that. Plan B then.

Front wheel axle length longer than 110mm PICS ADDED

Its not a hope hub. Yes it would be easier to use a solid 9mm thread bar, even loose the disc brake altogether, though this would be a step backwards in terms of practical use. This trailer is intended for hiking loads, it needs to fold up for travel on the train, bus, plane etc then when you...

Front wheel axle length longer than 110mm PICS ADDED

Re: Front wheel axle length longer than 110mm The lateral alignment for the caliper is out by around 9mm, a longer front axle would sort this. The wheel is a Front 20'' disc.

Front wheel axle length longer than 110mm PICS ADDED

Hi, Am trying to find if it exists a front 9mm QR wheel axle at a length of 120mm + anyone know of such a thing. Its for a project build of a hiking trailer, and I'm needing an extra 10 to 20 mm extra length in the axle for brake caliper alignment. Am considering other ways to achieve this...
