    Roberts White Spider 1993

Well done. It looks fabulous. Totally inspired me to renovate our white spider - just got the same tyres - ordered from the US. How are you finding them? Also very true about touring. The white spider makes a great tourer. When my husband was last using the bike circa 2006/7 it had a rack fitted...

I’ll take them to the shop next weekend. My Surly is currently there getting a service anyway. This whole thing started as I was looking for some handlebars in the garage to fiand was reminded of the Roberts languishing behind all the other old bikes

Rc35 - how to remove blades

I’m not sure what happened there. My husband is just putting the little one to bed but I’ll check when he’s back down. At least we haven’t refitted the forks on the bike yet. The wheel photo was the last one so it must be wrong.

Rc35 - how to remove blades

Thanks so much for everyone’s help with this. These are going to go back on a Roberts white spider that’s been in the garage for 15 years. I thought we would end up selling it but not so sure now we’ve started on it

Rc35 - how to remove blades

Original one back in for now but not completely flush. I think will need a bit of black paint touch up on the top of one of the blades. Hopefully can find a a couple of 531 stickers. I think will keep the retro shimano stickers on

Blades in, steerer out. Finding a replacement 1 inch retainer might not be so easy. I see there is 1 1/4 listed on eBay

Rc35 - how to remove blades

Well one leg came off okay using that method. The other has proved to be a bit more tricky. We had to tap through from the bottom? Bit worried the hole might be a bit warped. Anything to bear in mind when fitting the rigid legs? Anyway thanks so much for the help.

Rc35 - how to remove blades

Have removed forks from frame and tried hot water and plastic wedge. Has moved a few millimetres with us playing tug of war but we don’t have a vice available. I’m guessing there might be glued in?

Rc35 - how to remove blades

Trying to remove the suspension fork legs from the fork crowns so we can fit the RC30 blades. All bolts removed easily enough but the blades are not coming off. Any suggestions from anyone who’s done this before please?
