Opinions again - time for a new build. Another Orange, or?

Re: I like that Sunn; something French to go with your English Oranges. :D Although I quite like the full suspension Marins from the early 2000s as well, no idea what they're like and I really don't need full suspension for the "pootling about" style of riding I do, but I like the look of...

Re: Kona used better quality and lighter frame tubes as you went up the modal range. Entry level models like the Fire Mountain would have plain guage cro-moly tubes, whereas the more expensive models would have double butted and the very top models like the Expolosiv and Hot would use Tange...

    V brakes

Re: On the subject of pads, I replaced the original Shimano pads on both my bikes. The Shimano pads seem quite hard and feel a bit "wooden". I put some Koolstop inserts on one bike that already had the holder type shoes: https://www.wiggle.co.uk/kool-stop-v-br ... f-inserts/ I bought some...

    V brakes

Re: I have the previos version of the Deore brakes, M590 on two of my bikes and they're absolutely fine, dead easy to set up and the finish has lasted well; they still look pretty much new. I haven't tried the XT version, but there isn't much to a V-brake arm, so it's difficult to see how they...
