SPD shoes that you can actually walk in.

Re: That's what I feared. Even for walking I've moved away from traditional stiff, heavy boots to lightweight trail shoes. I think I've become so used to wearing soft, minimalist shoes, that whenever I wear sturdier shoes I find them really uncomfortable. Can you get Vibram Five Fingers for...

SPD shoes that you can actually walk in.

Re: That seems to be an issue with many cycling shoes, and some shoes and trainers in general. Odd colour combinations and wierd styling abound. I see some shoes and think "what the hell colour trousers are going to go with those?".

SPD shoes that you can actually walk in.

I currently use ye olde fashioned flat pedals with toe clips and straps. However, I'm thinking giving SPD pedals another go. I have a set of SPD pedals kicking aabout and I also have some SPD shoes. However, the shoes I have are totally hopeless off the bike, the soles are completely rigid...

Recomment a new hybrid sub £500

Re: Nice: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Boardman-Urb ... SwBPldE8et My brother picked up an older model that was very tidy with very little use for £180.00. Of the Boardman bikes I've seen up close I've been quite impressed, the aluminium frames have smoothed welds and look nicely finished.

Has anyone built a Gravel bike using a retro frame

Re: I think that is another difference between a modern gravel bike frame and some of the 90s MTBs. Some 90s MTBs had quite steep head angles and quick steering, whereas some of the gravel bikes have quite slack head angles and plenty of fork trail, to make the steering more stable off-road...

Recomment a new hybrid sub £500

Re: My twopence worth. If you're buying an entry level-ish bike and not riding agressively off road, get a bike with rigid forks. No suspension is better than cheap suspension. A friend recently bought a barely used Boardman CXR 9.0 for £500, like this one: Boardman make a number of flat...

Yo Eddy brake bosses - WTF?

Re: I had some early Avid V-brakes that didn't use the holes. There was a square nut behind the lever arm for adjusting the spring tension. Like this:

Has anyone built a Gravel bike using a retro frame

Re: The issue for me with fitting drop bars to an MTB would be the reach and stack. I'm quite short, but even for my height I think I have short arms, so frames with short top tubes and tall head tubes fit me best. Most 90s MTBs are the complete opposite of that - long and low. On my 90s rigid...

Has anyone built a Gravel bike using a retro frame

Re: Definately not retro:. The sort of riding I do would probably be classed a "gravel", I don't do technical stuff with jumps, down hill runs and as I don't have a car, I don't do purely off-road rides. I will generally ride on quiet country lanes with the occoasional detour along a...

    12mm rear axle

Re: I wonder who makes their El-guapo hubs for them. I know Novatec make a lot of hubs that are re-badged by other brands: http://www.nguide.eu/hubs https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/novatec-hub-spares/ I think Formula do as well: https://www.formulahubs.com/

    12mm rear axle
