Halloween Tale: Kirk bikes back from the dead (sort of!)

Re: Some of the Go Cycles have a magnesium frame and the wheels are magnesium too: https://gocycle.com/models/ They've been around for a while and I haven't heard of any meltdowns. There was one in the window of a local bike shop a while back; it's quite a neat looking thing in the flesh and...

    Classic Kona Seatpost options

Re: BBB SkyScraper is available in a full range of sizes: https://bbbcycling.com/uk_en/bsp-20-skyscraper I have a 26.6 one on my 94 Fire Mountain. Not the lightest around, but perfectly functional and the saddle doesn't slip backwards in the clamp the way it did with the original seat post...

Anyone tried these rigid disc forks ?

Re: Exotic make some rigid disc forks for non suspension corrected frames: https://www.carboncycles.cc/index.php?p=1641 They make serveral versions, carbon and alloy, with and without rim brake bosses: https://www.carboncycles.cc/index.php?s ... k_selector

Re: Possibly tyre width and wheel size versatilty. With disc brakes you can run a smaller diameter wheel with a fatter tyre and vice-versa in the same frame. A lot of gravel bikes work with either 650b wheels with a fat tyre or 700c wheels with a narrower tyre. For a lower cost, urban type...

Re: It's this one: I'm 5'7", so it should fit. The frame is Tange Ultimate Ultrastrong. I had it powdercoated the metalic green a few years back. It's pretty much mint, some marks around the dropouts, where the wheels were fitted and there's a tiny scratch on the down tube...

Personal Weight Weenie, FINISHED Pg10 (for now)

Re: I had some success with the 5:2 diet, but cutting out the carbs has supercharged it. My advice would be don't cut out red meat and eat more fat. It's counter intuitive, because we've been told that fat is bad for us and that we should be eating "healthy whole grains", well I tried that for...

Personal Weight Weenie, FINISHED Pg10 (for now)

Re: Here's my journey: Despite being active, I've always struggled with my weight. When my 36" waist trousers started to get tight, I was determined not to give up and just go out and buy bigger trousers. Start 14/01/2019 - weight: 14s 13lb This morning: 10s 12lb – Pretty much the lightest...

2006 Canondale Six13 - reliability and realistic lifetime?

Re: There are plenty of bonded framed bikes still about and still going strong that are considerably older than your Cannondale. 90s Raleigh Techniums, which were steel lugs bonded to titanium tubes, some 90s Specialzed used steel and titanium lugs bonded to carbon tubes and 90s Giant Cadex's...

SPD shoes that you can actually walk in.

Re: Those Specialized don't look too bad. I'm wary of Shimano shoes, I have a pair Shimano MT41, they are a bit narrow for my flipper feet and hopeless for walking in; the soles flex about as much as a brick. I'm going to have to find somwhere I can actually try before I buy.

SPD shoes that you can actually walk in.

Re: I've had a few pairs of cheap Karrimor shoes, they're OK, but they don't last particularly long; the soles seem to wear out fast and they get scruffy pretty quickly. That being said, I walk a fair bit, sometimes 20 or 30 miles a week, but they deffinately don't last as long as the Merrell...

    Hypex UcD700HG with HxR power amplifiers 360w p/c £800.

1 Pair of Hypex UcD700HG with HxR mono power amplifiers. £800.00. I built these a few years back, but I'd really like something a bit smaller. The amps sound incredible, as much power as you could ever want for a domestic hi-fi, but absolutely crystal clear. If it's on the recording, these...
