Magura hs33 fitment on a kilauea seatstay..

The mounts are asymmetric. If you swap them left to right (i.e. take them both off and reinstall them on the opposite sides of the bike) that should let you get the pistons closer to the rims. The quick release bolt needs to stay on the same side (i.e. don't move it when you swap the mounts...

    REMOVED

Re: Profile 'extension bars' width anyone? That's a Profile XC Durango bar extension kit, and according to this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292473689837 they came in two widths, to fit 20" or 22" bars. I don't know which version Ned used.

Hub identification please - says "Milano made in Italy"

My first thought was Fratelli Brivio ("Fratelli" means brothers!) and they're certainly similar, but I can't find an exact match. FB were in Brescia but made hubs for other brands. It would be unusual to stamp them "Milano" without a brand though. My second thought was Milremo. Milremo was a...

    What Dawes have I?

Weinmann brakes normally carry a date stamp on the rear in the form of a dial (month and year). That should give you a ballpark date. Try uploading your pictures to a hosting service like tinypic.com . The head badge changed from "DAWES" in a circle with a laurel wreath to "Dawes" in a plain...

Hub identification please - says "Milano made in Italy"

That's giving me a 404. Try posting the link without any image tags (the site will hyperlink it automatically) or via tinyurl.

This might be a stupid question ......

You should be fine. Check the spoke lengths here: https://leonard.io/edd/ but the difference in hub dimensions is too small to worry about. Sort the spokes into four groups (leading and trailing, left and right) and use the same orientations. I usually use new nipples. It's more hassle to...

    MTB Frame ID Help

It does look very Torusey: https://imgur.com/a/TcX0P/all Given the location, and the weld discolouration, perhaps this is one that found its way out of the factory before finishing.

    any info on cannondale backroads?

 They may have done both. My friends' bikes were CAAD2 Headshok hybrid frames fitted with drop bars, and I don't believe they corresponded to a particular Cannondale catalogue model. Bicloune in Paris used to sell quite large numbers of these bikes.

    Unknown Kona

Dude, that shit ain't retro! The name's actually written on it - it's a "Kona Kona", believe it or not. The equipment isn't exactly right, but it's pretty close to this 2004 model: http://www.classickona.com/oldgold/2004/kona.jpg In any case, it was only available for a few years, so it can't...

    any info on cannondale backroads?

"Backroads" isn't a model name; Backroads is a travel company that runs organised bike tours in many countries: https://www.backroads.com/award-winning-tours/biking The bikes are supplied by various major manufacturers, and have a "Backroads" decal. The fleet is replaced periodically, and the...

Shimano Rear Mech date code - where?

It's normally on the cage somewhere. I've got a 6401 rear mech on my desk just now - the date code (RJ) is stamped inside the outer cage plate, just above the pivot.
