I think maybe you and I were the first two to get moonrise from Dave! Don't worry. I, too, have a Mag 21 SL Ti in moonrise to use with this as well! Pics coming soon.

A few glamour shots of the current status of the build:

Completed the wheels with very good condition Panaracer Magic 2.2 skinwall tires, NOS T-Gear 3DV QR's, and woodpecker racing schraeder valve caps in 3DV. Considering maybe using some decent Ringle MK-1 Road Ti-Stix instead of the T-Gear QR's. Thoughts? And a NOS Shimano CS-M737 Type R 11-28...

Sent off the wheels to get built, and got them back recently. They look fantastic!

Now moving on to the wheels. Again, I was able to source relatively cheap but NOS T-Gear Eclipse hubs, NOS Shogun Zero 3DV rims, purple allow nipples, and DT spokes. You'll see in a later post that I also have a Mag21 SL painted in Moonrise, and I had the option of building both a front wheel...

You'll notice in a few of these pics a new Chris King Gripnut in Black Sotto Voce. That was my initial option, until I found a CK Gripnut in 3DV. The black will be used on another build, but here's the new 3DV Gripnut:

This build will be adorned with as much 3DV as anyone could possibly stand. Hence the OTT in the title! (Over The Top) First up is a NOS T-Gear crankset with NOS SRP crank bolts, NOS Kronos 3DV chainring bolts, Vuelta SE Plus (ramped and pinned) chainrings in black, with a NOS 3DV Girvin Rock...

Next, new bottom bracket bearings and a 125mm Ti spindle.

And finally receipt of the frame, and original spinner fork in Moonrise! I initially installed cheapo $10 sacrificial seatpost from Amazon for build purposes, and standard issue shimano seatpost QR.

The C-Dale fork was clearly going to need to be painted to match the Moonrise. I also wanted to remove the disc tabs on the fork leg so as to make it look more period correct (and no intent to use discs ever on this bike). Here's the result of carefully angle grinding the sanding down the disc...
