    Spoke lengths..

If using brass nipples, the spoke length can be slightly out. If spokes are too short in an alloy nipple, the head may fracture at the shoulder.

    Spoke lengths..

I would be comfortable going with 266mm spokes throughout. Are you using brass nipples? If you are using the 15g spokes that you mentioned in another post, they will tend to wind up as they are tensioned. Make sure to lubricate the spoke threads before building and destress the wheel as you go...

    Spoke lengths..

Using the calculator and stored geometry values at https://leonard.io/edd/ gives the following lengths for 32h 3 cross (below). I would advise yout to verify the rim ERD at 548mm before ordering spokes. This calculator has been pretty accurate for me. If anything, I would round down any decimal...

What do you think about while riding?

Nothing until I bonk, then I start missing my dog and all the second helpings that I've turned down during my lifetime.

    Help with Shimano front derailleur

You need this bit; the notched plate and spring. You're welcome to this one for the cost of postage, but it might mean a bit of a wait as I'm in Indonesia. PM me if you can't find one closer.

Sold FALSE SUNTOUR XC PRO CRANKS

These "Suntour" cranks are being sold here in Indonesia by a few sellers on a local e-commerce site (photo and link below). 2 years ago I bought a set out of curiosity. Trash. I gave them to a neighbor. Strangely they had a proper Suntour big ring. I can't guess as to their origin. They are...

I have purchased these axles twice. They are very nice quality and well machined. I installed them on Shimano 105 (respaced to 135mm) and older Dura ace hubs.

2023 me says I should leave the 600mm bars alone. 1992 me says I need to get out the hacksaw. 1968 me wishes they would both shut TF up and let me enjoy my nap.

Folders! Foldable bicycles, minivelos and demontables

I just finished rebuilding my old Polygon Metro. I was able to stifle the urge to put drop bars back on, but my resolve not to add gratuitous titanium bits lasted 2 metric seconds. I have 7 of 9 speeds on this modified 112mm rear hub. Wheels are 305. I still need to fold it up for the money shot.
