Vitus 979 Rear derailleur dropout cracked - Any adice?

Its very disappointing that this has happened. I don't think the steel mech hangers identified would work due to being designed for horizontal dropouts. This is an old bike with a non replaceable alloy dropout. It looks like it has been badly mauled by some tool or a vice. It has numerous other...

My Dawes Galaxy serial number is F5110. Think it is from the early seventies. Maybe we should start collecting Dawes serial numbers and see if we can make sense of the code.

    1970s(?)ish Falcon city/road bike - Beginner restoration

As a first project I would suggest stripping it down and replacing what needs replacing, bearings, cables etc. Possibly consider upgrading to alloy rims or buying an old complete wheelset with the alloy rims. You can get budget new wheels in the 27 by 1/4 size as well. Fitting a new groupset...

    Raleigh Panasonic

Thats a lovely frame. You could build it up as speced by the Raleigh Weinmann Team with Simplex gears and Weinmann brakes and rims. That would be an interesting alternative to Campag and possibly cheaper.

1984 Raleigh Grand Course 531c frameset

I think £150 is a good price to achieve for that frame assuming you're selling the forks and headset as well. What make are the gear levers?
