Hi Dan, difficult balance here. You also need to make sure that the outer edge (without seeing it) doesn't fowl the frame when the wheel is bolted to the bike. Don't over tighten the lock ring either as with 1.5 turns you may strip the thread on either the free hub or the locking. Re the...

I totally agree with the above. I go a little extra and recycle my dirty fluid after. I bought some parer filters from eBay of Amazon, and filter it after use into another bottle so I get as much out of it as possible. I've also used coffee filter paper which works too.

Stay away from the Park Tool one as it's really fiddly to get the 'head' on the valve. You can push it on too far then it doesn't work well, and it feels cheap. There's a Topeak one my mate uses which is good.
