Just getting together the parts for the build.

Building this up for an old friend who has had it about 12 years. It’s frame and forks only so nice little project for me. He had it resprayed after he first bought it and been hanging on his wall since. Nice details.

Gears worked well on bike stand but I will see what it’s like on the road, too hot to take it anywhere yesterday.

Close ups of frame, serial number on steerer and rear drop out, fits with 1954 on Holdsworth numbering series. Seat tube was sleeved with brass shim to take unicantor seat post.

Pre strip down.

Having inherited another bike which I thought was a Claud Butler and was used by previous owner as a TT/Track bike, I set to stripping it down for a refurb. With the help of some others on various forums it transpires it is a Holdsworth and not a Claud Butler, still a nice bike but when...

Ready to roll at last, had some problems with rear gears but sorted now. The rear derailleur was fixed to drop out with a mounting plate that was set into the wheel, I couldn’t get the smallest sprocket. Fitted with a flat plate, sorted.

Ready to ride on Sunday, bit of tweaking no doubt on ride.

Badge now on bike, silver lining to lugs to do.

Head badge retouched to go on.

All done bar a set of pedals.

Finished all bar some toe clips and rivets to fix head badge on. Proud to have her in my care.

Campag Velox rear derailleur arrived from France, it’s polished up really well with fingers and oil.

New sear tube badges fitted, you won’t see many of the CB Padiham badges around!
