SB632 1976 SBDU 753 Team Track Pursuit Frame

This is the earliest 753 SBDU SB numbered track frame I have seen. SB632 dates to the Easter period of 1976, only a few months after 753 was introduced. It is built for lightness and track pursuits rather than the normal super strong and stiff 531 SBDU track machines. I bought this frame from a...

    753R Raleigh Banana SBDU

Thanks Carl. The Dura-Ace kit looks great on the Banana frame and the bike does almost look brand new (a few scratches here and there if you know where to look), but because everything is used, it means I don't have the usual nagging doubt in my head that I normally get when I build a bike with...

Campagnolo 50th Anniversary Super Record freewheel cog G-16

No it didn't come with a freewheel, it was just a Campagnolo freewheel not linked to the Group at all.

1981 SBDU Dynaflite TT Reynolds 753 Aero Tubing

I agree. To be honest, I'm totally torn between the AX look and something like the Huret - I have a 1979 753 Time Trial Special that I think would suit the Huret setup much better. But so far the 1981 build year of the Dynaflite frame and the 1981 release date of the AX parts, together with the...

1981 SBDU Dynaflite TT Reynolds 753 Aero Tubing

I've been looking at the rear AX derailleur and it looks like it might work with an outer cable - I've always used these with the std inner cable setup but this actually works and the cable run/pull is really smooth so it might be possible to use this. I just removed the plastic guide that the...

1981 SBDU Dynaflite TT Reynolds 753 Aero Tubing

I've got these but the hoods are a bit 'brittle'

1981 SBDU Dynaflite TT Reynolds 753 Aero Tubing

That's the problem with AX, the rear derailleur wont work, AX is over the top of the BB and no chainstay stop - however, the aero calipers and brake levers, headset, single ring chainset and pedals etc would look great. It may even be a similar shade of blue for the lever hoods. I have a full...

1981 SBDU Dynaflite TT Reynolds 753 Aero Tubing

Yes, the colour hits you in the face but it is growing on me. The paint is actually excellent quality and only has a few chips around the dropouts and top of seat tube, but overall, it's solid. I'm hoping the correct SBDU frame transfers will help. I'm looking for ideas on what to build it...

1981 SBDU Dynaflite TT Reynolds 753 Aero Tubing

The story is that only a couple of dozen were ever made, probably as they were too complex and expensive. I've seen one in Raleigh's 1982 brochure and one in a 2007 Cycling Plus article about the SBDU - this is the first actual Dynaflite I've ever seen in the flesh.

1981 SBDU Dynaflite TT Reynolds 753 Aero Tubing

A new project... A 1981 SBDU Special Build. There aren't many of these, a Dynaflite TT built with 753 Aero tubing (SBDU called this Ovoid). Ignore the current 753R transfer, as all the current frame transfers have been fitted later. I'll be fitting the correct transfers soon. Forks are...

    Raleigh Frame Identification

Seller says frame number is WD3 - so that is Nottingham 1983. The parts are 1050 which is 1985 minimum. The ends of the stays around the chrome ends are not masked very well so looks like a respray.
