You may end up with dish issues... Might be easier to build onto a new hub, and then you also have "zero" miles on it, so no wear on the bearings/freehub etc. They're cheaper than you think, and probably a whole lot less faff and expense than trying a lot of freehub bodies and finding they don't...

Exposure Strada. Genius. Run-time countdown display is brilliant, you genuinely know how much time you have left. Turn it down if you're running low on minutes. Single-button operation initially seems odd, but it's actually very easy. I turn down on climbs, and up onto maximum for singletrack...

IIRC the pins in the base of the shifter are clocked at a different angle compared to DX/XT. I could be wrong, but I think that's the case.

Agree on the decals, pointing towards respray. Surely this must be a shimmed 1 1/4 setup. So what's that, 91/92 when the went from 1" to 1 1/4 on the 3.0? I'm sure one of the cannondale experts will be along in a sec with serial number questions.

Hunt for the NOS "right ones". Yup XT M730 blocks were good BITD, but finding NOS ones now, they tend to be a bit hard and not so grippy, but a small price for correct. Cables etc, again, go for proper type NOS, like these: https://bicyclist.cc/?s=m730&post_type=product (see page 2 for the cables).
