Rehoming a late 80s Raleigh Magnum!

So by way of an update..... So far the bike owes me......well nothing really. I still haven't replaced the rear tyre. The only used parts I have added were the front brake cable and an inner tube (both of which I had knocking around so were in effect free). In fact I owe the bike quite a bit as...

    27" tyre recommendations please

I see that rudimentary 27" tyres can be bought relatively cheaply in pairs off of the good old www. Have any of you guys used them, what where they like? I am not looking for outright performance, just wanting to get a project rolling and wondering what to use. Any other recommendations? Cheers

    70s Holdsworth Cyclone

Thanks I thought it well worth saving. If I really like riding it I might add a Double up front to give me more gears.

    70s Holdsworth Cyclone

I never pay too much for a bike lol The intention is to get it tidied up and ride it. If I like it I may treat it to some nicer rims and maybe other parts as the whim takes me.

    70s Holdsworth Cyclone

The chap who was selling it listed it as 501 tubing but I had a good idea it was plain guage 531. The seat post is 26.4mm and there is no seam visible in the seat tube and I think the decal is a 531 decal. What do you all think? Cheers

    70s Holdsworth Cyclone

Hello all, Last night I picked up my eBay purchase in the dark and have had a better look at it in the light today. It looks like a great basis for restoration as a "rider" not a show bike 😁 I think it is an early/mid 70s frame and may have been supplied frame only. So I am wondering are the...
