    For Sale Pipedream Moxie Frame

I have had this frame for about a year after being enticed by Velofrogs build. I had the frame powdercoated in 'chameleon blue' - a very sparkly blue basically. Anyway, I picked up a Kingdom Vendetta towards the end of last year and can't justify keeping both. This is the build thread...

    Santa Cruz Chameleon (1998+)

I checked my e-mails and this is what I ordered: FSOOCNCSO-B2-GEAR-DISC-BLK On-One CNC Anodized Swap-Out B2 Geared Disc Side Black 1 I remember that it was only £1 in the sale back in 2018. I can't see them on the Planet X website now but you could try e-mailing them with the stock code?

That disc adapter was the only one available from Santa Cruz

    Curtis SuperX 2001

It would have been a very common spec. It was pretty much the cheapest way to get a disc specific wheelset

    1999 Scott USA Comp Racing

High end hardtails were still specced with v-brakes until 2002-2003.

    1999 Kona King Kikapu

My '98 Z3's have leaked since day 1. I ran them on ATF for most of their life, which eliminated any potential slow rebound issues. No damping at all really!

Santa Cruz Chameleon Mk1 Build | Early 1998 | Lizard Green

Always enjoy a chameleon build. You might find my build of interest, particularly if you are thinking of running discs: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/santa-cruz-chameleon-mk1.388686/

Pace RC627 and a little story

I wouldn't worry about maintenance. If the frame starts creaking then replace the bearings but I've never had any issues. I built my Lapierre Zesty back in 2017 and all I have needed to do since then is oil the chain. If the shock needed a service it would be more cost effective to sell it...

Kona Kula 2000 - New member, first build thread

Interesting idea with the dropper cable routing. I think I would have gone external though and using the top tube guides left redundant from having a 1x setup. Thinking about it, you could still do that. Run the cable as if it was going to a front mech and then add a rollamajig on to your...

2006 Kona Kula Primo -- scruffy rider

I agree that I wouldn't fit a star nut to a carbon steerer. However, I bought a second hand carbon rigid fork with one already fitted and rode it 4,500 miles without any problems. Only changed it because I managed to pick up an Enve MTN fork, which is unfortunately heavier and less comfortable!

I don't like moots anymore. Or Wilderness Trail Bikes (WTB). New wheel size 750d anyone?😐

I have 2.35 Schwalbe G One Speeds on my 29er rigid mountain bike. It comfortably rolls faster than a lot of road bikes on 23's, 25's, 28's etc. Rolling resistance is more about tread and tyre weight than width

    A new toy

Yeah, I bought the 2003 Monster for £200 and I think I got the 2005 something close to £100. Crazy when you seen how much they go for now. I did actually sell the 2003 set for £800 last year. As much as I would have liked to keep them as a piece of art/history I couldn't resist that mark up...

direct mount chainring would have saved more weight

    My hardtail journey

Seems like quite a bold claim when we had DMR Trailstar, Orange Missile, Planet X Jackflash, DDG Shooter amongst others pre-2000, just in the UK! Post 2000 you had all of the above plus On-One, .243, Revell Bikes, 24 Bicycles, Nicolai, Rotwild, Duncon, Curtis etc... :p
