    1980 Raleigh Magnum

You don't need a specific chain - anything that states it is suitable for a 5 speed (or 6/7, however many sprockets are on the freewheel) will be fine. KMC make good ones.

    Best Find at the Dump?

I worked my local dump – sorry 'Civic Amenity Site' – for one summer back when I was a student. I was often amazed at the things people threw away, although living in a relatively affluent area I shouldn't really have been surprised, I suppose. This was back when things were much more relaxed...

Sold 7-Eleven Eddy Merckx team jersey (modern repro, unworn) - Large size - £12 posted

It's slightly hard to say given the stretchy nature of a jersey, but I'd say that sounds about right.

Sold 7-Eleven Eddy Merckx team jersey (modern repro, unworn) - Large size - £12 posted

The top of the back collar to the bottom of the back is 66cm - also, the front zip is 56cm long. As a rough guide, I'm almost 6ft and it fits me well length-wise - it's just a bit baggy as I'm on the skinnier side (I do usually take a medium). (also now added this info above)

Sold 7-Eleven Eddy Merckx team jersey (modern repro, unworn) - Large size - £12 posted

7-Eleven Eddy Merckx team jersey - modern reproduction version. Brand new and unworn. Unbranded, but seems decent quality with mesh side/top panels to keep you cool. The size is a regular large, approx 50cm pit-to-pit. From the top of the back collar to the bottom of the back is 66cm and the...

    1994 MB Dronfield 531c

A small thread resurrection, as I finally got around to replacing the nasty modern stem with a nice pantographed Cinelli one, which actually came from the other MB I acquired (it only took me 9 years to get around to this... 😆 ). That also meant a change of bars for some Cinelli Giro ones I had...

Sold Duell Columbus TSX 2000 LARGE!

Very nice, indeed. The stem is a Cinelli XA one, by the way. Good luck with the sale - I think you've priced it very well for proper pro-level bike.

    Cinetica Giotto

A remarkable bike in more ways that one, and lovely to see it cleaned up. Will this get ridden or is it a display item only? Just wondering as your signature is 100% MTB. Usually I'd say it would be a shame for a bike not to be ridden, but this could be an exception...though if it was mine I'd...

Sorted Cinelli XA stem plastic spacer/insert

I'm after one of those Cinelli XA stem plastic spacer/inserts - any colour apart from yellow would do. Pic attached, although I'm sure most people here know what they look like... Thanks

Unknown 'highend and quite rare Reynolds touring bike' currently £80 in Blackburn

I feel like I've seen this one before, but I can't properly recall. The headbadge and seat stay caps are distinctive, but I can't quite place those either...what is it? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/135079669716

    Raleigh Banana 🍌

The brakes are definitely not for recessed nuts, which for cheaper bikes like this was usually the case. The bolts are sticking out a bit more than normal because they originally would have had reflectors. These bikes go for a surprising amount of money considering they were cheap bikes back in...

    Code of the road.

Definitely the same in England, I'd say - right down to the lack of acknowledgement from a certain type of rider who is obviously way too busy trying to smash a Strava segment to return a nod of a head. Actually they probably don't even notice a rider going the other way, which I suppose is...

True, but distinguishing a (real) bike shop that will give you good advice and one that won’t is not always so easy if you don’t already have the experience, unfortunately… But let’s just say don’t take it to your local Halfords or they’ll try and sell you a new bike instead 😂
