    Dario Pieri the stocky powerful Italian classics rider. Using again gimmicky suspension in the 1999-2001 Spring campaigns. Although the picture of Pieri flinging the bike in the Roubaix velodrome would suggest he’s not to happy despite a Roubaix podium 😂

    The forks were popular in the peloton for the likes of Roubaix, with the winner using suspension forks in 1992/93/94 editions. Twice by Duclos Lassalle, and Andrei Tchmil. The suspension forks were used by 5 of the professional teams in the 1993 edition, and a number of individual riders also...

    Sad state of affairs this. Particularly in the UK, where any professional team is extremely scarce at the moment, so this is very disappointing indeed 🫣🤦🏻‍♂️

    Yes a bag got caught in the mech, which prevented him from getting in a more suitable sprinting gear. However, Wegmuller was not renowned for his sprint prowess, and Demol had played a more cagey game in terms of working in the group, so it is very likely Demol would of been the winner anyhow. 👍😎

    Yes those Merckx’s bikes are very cool, I regularly see someone commuting on one on my journey to work. Yes the great Thomas Wegmuller, the nearly man!
