Cool! Did you modify the brakes on the F900 at all? Got any close-ups?

Just handed over the stem to a friend. He's been doing a ton of paint work lately and offered to paint it. 👍

I generally avoid Schwalbe tyres on mountainbikes for very similar reasons, also without first-hand experience :) They seem to work great on commuter bikes -as far as I can tell- and they were cheap.

I have not run into any problems with Schwalbe Marathon tyres on our cargobike....thanks for letting me know they are practically unrideable 😅 Edit: BTW, how much torque did you put on that cassette lockring on your new 240 rear hub? I'd be worried of the freehub splines getting damaged running...

Mountain Cycle Shockwave 9.5 revamp. 14.7kg final weight.

Bummer. Been following your thread for a while. 5mm each side might be a bit much for the BB cups. Kinda saw that one coming, but I figured you'd know the width the BB shell better than me...

@MuchAlohaNui All tools I used are visible in the first photo... Installation guide states that you're supposed to only press on the cup itself and not touch the inside. But it's raised and the cup went in fine with a block of wood and a hammer.

Problem solved. But there's not much to it, so no extra thread. I installed a Cane Creek Hellbender 70 Viscoset in conjunction with a headset cover/preload bolt assembly from Velution. I got the Viscoset seperately, as I got a good deal on it. adequate amounts of grease That upper cup...

    My hardtail journey

Indeed. I just remembered another hardtail that I totally forgot about! This one now has a Maxxis Crossmark II out back and it's absolutely fine. It's a 2002 Brodie Kinetic. Some details changed since I took this photo, of course. I got that one before the Trans Am. Frame was dirt cheap at...

Good point. A couple friends have or had Cotic bikes, so I know them quite well. They never appealed to me that much, though. They come across a little too polished, I think.

I think the BB threads were misaligned. As in either side was fine on its own, with the BB face perpendicular to the thread, but the faces themselves were not parallel. This resulted in issues with the bearings. It was that Hambini guy. He must have taken the video down. I did not manage to find it.

16.5" ;) Cool bike you got there! Saw a video a good while back where a guy seemed not that happy with the quality of a Kingdom hardtail frame. How is yours?

    My hardtail journey

I'm pretty happy with the Michelin Wild Enduro Rear. Good traction, both for riding up and braking and it's adequately beefy. ~1.1kg I think. Just switched from a DHR2 Dual compound to a DHR2 3C Maxxgrip up front today. Never used 3C rubber before, apart from a fairly old hand-me-down...

    My hardtail journey

Great bike! I'll be looking into underforking mine. No need for 140mm travel up front anyways, for me at least. The BB should come out at around the same height as on the Trans Am, steepter ST for better climbing, steeper HA to help the forks bushings survive a little longer. How hard are you...

    My hardtail journey

Possibly. I find installing wheels much easier with through axles, as they tend to come with disc brakes. Installing a disc brake wheel with regular QR dropouts can be quite fiddly.
