    Voodoo Wanga

I love how versatile the frame is. Steel is real, V-brake or disk, sliding dropouts, 26"/700c. It's a real apocalypse worthy bike that can be built with whatever parts are on hand. My next step is to run an 8 speed alfine hub gear set up for a minimalist hardy commuter. I'm not sure how I'll...

    Voodoo Wanga

Thanks to @thchen 's engagement with this thread, I realised it's been ages since I've updated this. I've used the voodoo for a couple of multi day bike packing adventures, as well as commuting duties.

Sorry I just had the one spare, now gone.

    For Sale motolegends gift card

Does(would) anyone on here shop with motolegends.com? I was very kindly gifted a £100 gift card to spend with them, but unfortunately it's all a bit above my price range, even with £100 to spend. I was hoping to sell it for maybe £85, or (seeing as it was meant to be for motorbike stuff) I would...

    GSXR750 SRAD needs some TLC

The update I came to post was regarding the nissin brake calipers. They arrived, with banjo bolts included, and I've had time today to fit them and bleed them, and they seem to pair with the OEM master cylinder and lever (nissin branded, I noticed). It all looks good, and was a simple swap over...

    GSXR750 SRAD needs some TLC

Sorry I missed this until just now when I came to post an update, but that's very helpful vis-à-vis the reasoning behind brands settling on 120/70 and Suzuki choosing the wider 6.00 rim on the rear. I'll look into those tyre recommendations once it's through the MOT as they are an advisory.

    GSXR750 SRAD needs some TLC

Lads, come on... I said shoe-string budget for the project as a whole. Of course I understand the economics of quality tyres and will spend appropriately, even if it means delaying the project a little. Also, there's a difference between what my SRAD was built for 25 years ago and how it will...

    GSXR750 SRAD needs some TLC

Aesthetic reasons mostly. I was hoping something like this might work. I'm not riding the bike on track days etc, it's more an occasional leisure pastime these days. I guess I didn't really think through the implications of a (slightly) wider tyre on the front. I think the pirellis pictured...

    GSXR750 SRAD needs some TLC

This is the bike in case anyone wonders why anyone would be so heathen as to ask about ADV style tyres on a sports bike.

    GSXR750 SRAD needs some TLC

Ah, good to know as it's had a 190 on there from before my time. I think I'll have more choice of tyres by going to 180. What about the front, could that go the other way and put a slightly wider tyre on, as I've sometimes thought it looks a bit noodly with the 120 on there?

    GSXR750 SRAD needs some TLC

Also, does anyone know what slightly 'ADV' style tyres come in the GSXR 120/70r17 and 190/50r17 flavour, or what wiggle room is there to fit a different width or profile on the GSXR rims?

    GSXR750 SRAD needs some TLC

I put in a best offer of £130 and got them. Sounds like I'll need to order some hoses when the brakes arrive if the banjos are different as you say. Less hassle is definitely de rigueur in my case. I've had the tokicos rebuilt before, but the bike has sat outside for some time, so replacing the...

Will they work with my existing lever? My understanding is that a 4 pot lever can't push enough volume...

    GSXR750 SRAD needs some TLC

I'm currently trying to put my 1999 GSXR back on the road, but the front brake calipers have seized (again). I was wondering if anyone knows what alternative brakes would fit as a straight swap or with an adaptor. I'm led to believe that a decent pair of 4 pots will be more reliable than the...

ok, so Orange, it sucks but alot of us love them, shows us all your Oranges over the years!

IIRC Shedobits bought the 2009 5 frame from me. This is how I ran it: And this is what I replaced it with:

Cmon guys… I need those brakes

Yeah, they're a bit annoying, but what do you gain by not complying? You're not one of those 'sovereign citizen' types are you? I just say 'bicycle parts', no oil or batteries (even if they're hydraulic brakes). Who cares?

For Sale 56cm Carlton Kermesse Reynolds 501 frameset

Hi, this is my 1986 Carlton Kermesse frameset (post Raleigh merger). It's a 56cm seat tube, short head tube, Reynolds 501 frame and matching fork and headset. It uses a 26.8mm seat post. I had it powder coated as the basis of my retro-modern road bike. The 1986 frame and fork have recessed brake...
