Can you fit 27.5s on 26inch frames?

Which handlebar are you running? I love klunker bars, always on the look out for new offerings in that area.

    Finishing tape for drop bars?

That's a great idea. So original and rustic, perfect for retro steeds!

    New (nearly) bike day!

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get the tyres? I'm struggling to rationalise the current RRP on them, with very few bargains to be had on them yet, being so new on the market.

    Finishing tape for drop bars?

What about a slice of inner tube, if we're going for a stretchy ring that needs applied before shifters/brake levers?

    New (nearly) bike day!

Do I spy the new Schwalbe Al Grounders on this? I love the look of them, thinking of buying some for my Kona unit build, for a Moto dualsport/adventure look. How do you find them? A fine choice of handlebar too, I hope more brands introduce more klunker bars to bring the price down a bit.

    Kona Unit revived

I haven't had many opportunities to get out on it, but I'm enjoying it so far. How much are you after for a geared drop out? I would be interested in opening up more possibilities.

    On One Vandal (Titanium) bargain

Beauty shot from the top of Innerleithen red trails on a two day adventure taking in two trail centres and the Old Drover's Road / Thieve's Road back up to Edinburgh.

    Tyre Q

That's definitely not a feature, on any tyre. Looks like it's been run when flat, damaging the sidewalls.

    Trp Spykes vs bb7

Coming at this drop bar lever feel problem from a different angle: have you guys seen the Surly Corner bar? It lets you use a flat bar lever and shifter before changing groupset if you're trying out drop bars, but also means you don't need drop bar levers with your mechanical disk brakes on...

    On One Vandal (Titanium) bargain

The sun shone for a few minutes today, so I got some pictures of the 'completed' build. I have an XT rear derailleur awaiting a new cage that will eventually go on this, and when I get a nice bling wheelset for my Orange Stage Five, the raceface wheels from the orange will go on this.

    On One Vandal (Titanium) bargain

The other thing I did, was get some custom graphics made by Indiprint. Bare metal frames have always reminded me of polished Aluminium aircraft, so I asked for a US air corps design, and boy, did Lucy at Indiprint deliver. Here's a teaser, with full photos to follow once the fork is correctly...

    On One Vandal (Titanium) bargain

So I've decided on a 130mm travel fork with 34mm stanchions from one of my favourite brands back in the day. As a nod to the various MX Comp forks I've owned over the years, and the fact that they are decent value, being part of the Fox brand, but without the Fox price tag. Believe it or not...

    Kona Unit revived

I picked up this Kona unit from my local cycling charity shop in its handed in state. Hub bearings were shot, headset was rumbly, drivetrain completely worn. It also turns out the seatpost was completely seized, but I only found that out later. I've been wanting to build another pub cruiser /...

What's your 26" road tyre choice?

I picked up a pair of 26" x 2.5 hookworms from a friend last week, for a bike I wanted to build, but the frame I ended up with is a 29er, so I would let them go. Other urban 26" tyres I've run are Halo Twinrails 26x2.2, Schwalbe Billy bonkers 26x2.1 and I'm about to get some Schwalbe fat...

Very confused about riding position(s) - mtb vs road

The rotation of the whole system where the cyclist is effectively lying back is not the same as a rider being at the same angle just horizontally shifted over the pedals. The second is not a rotation, it's a change of relative position. As for different types of riding, of course the rules don't...

Very confused about riding position(s) - mtb vs road

I'm not sure about a recumbent, but I would take a guess and say, the same applies, just rotated back by 90°, so a spirit level through the knee and pedal axle. Or that a recumbent being what it is, requires sacrificing the perfect position for the needs of a recumbent rider. We are all...
