Took it down to the skate park first to get the suspension settings dialed in. ;) A sense of scale. The colour coordinated tripod and graffiti was not deliberate.

"Some assembly required" Having the front wheel removable means that the box doesn't have to be quite so big.

Full spec: Approximately 3,500 separate bits, not including jigs and prototypes.

Thanks 7Speed. I've enjoyed it too. Got a load of finished photos from the weekend to sift through. Should hopefully be "opening the box" in the next day or two, but got a real work deadline so might be a bit later than that.

A question that I was often asked during this build was "what are you going to do with it when it's finished?" My honest answer was "probably put it in a box in the loft." So, being really pleased with the way that the build was going, I thought that the box ought to be nice too... 9...

Do a little dance?

Dry fit of chain and mechs to check length and line. Two or three more links to go and we're done. The front mech is held on with a toothpick and the rear hanger is just slid over the rear axle. It is much easier to thread the chain thrugh the mechs when they are not attached to the frame. All...

The end of each pin is given a drop of silver paint. This is just past the halfway stage. I still get the occasional flashback. A sense of scale.

Outer plates on the left, rollers in the middle, inner plates on the right. This photo is just the spares left over after completing it. There were loads of these to start with. Every so often one goes pinging out of your tweezers into oblivion. When this happens, it is not worth looking for it...

Not far off... About 450 laser cut bits of 0.3 card, 225 laser cut 0.5mm thick acrylic rollers and a whole lot of 1mm plastic rod. One pair of headphones, a really good playlist, some really good tweezers, superglue. The correct mindset. Still need to do the chain... Here we go....
