    Orange (Formula?) Poole

Re: I'd say almost certainly a Formula. Someone please buy this and take that rack and lock off this A.S.A.P., they're making me wince looking at them on that bike! Pretty terrible pictures unfortunately to get a good look at it.

Raleigh Dyna Tech appreciation and information thread

Re: I remember it first on the Torus, just assumed it was a bit of simple rebranding. Trying to distinguish the higher end models from the lumps like the Activator. Edit: The first Dyna-Tech's in 1990 still had the Raleigh branding first (downtube decal) with the Dyna-Tech secondary. From 1991...

    Orange Team Riders, anyone know?

Sally Hibberd rode for Specialized early on I think, 89 UK champs?. She was also definitely riding for Zinn around 92 and then the MBUK team. Don't remember her riding for Orange tbh, but my memory is a bit hazy like others.

    1991 Orange Aluminium Elite

Re: Whack a Jubilee clip round it and call it done! Okay maybe not, would've thought there would be a few capable alloy welders up your way considering the Oil and Gas industry. I've always shied away from Alloy frames for their issues with cracking :?

early 90's Raleigh USA Technium Peak

Re: Here's a link to the 1990 UK catalogue, unfortunately it doesn't include the Peak. I'm guessing they didn't import that particular model that year but the designs are identical on the Chill with the blocky patterns on the downtube at the bottom bracket area. The Peak in the 1991 and 1992...

early 90's Raleigh USA Technium Peak

Re: Going by the colour and graphics I'd have put this one down as a 1990 model. I doubt that fork is original as all the ones I've seen in this colour scheme have a black rigid straight blade fork. There's a couple of these frames on eBay ATM. It also has non low profile xt canti's by the...

    Is it a -->1997 or a 1998-->?

Re: Why not swap the components on these two bikes so they are era correct? I'd always go by the frame age, regardless of the component age tbh.

1988 Stumpjumper Epic (former Cindy Whitehead Frame)

Re: Cheers Jim. The bike is pretty much ready to ride, just me that's not. Waiting on seeing a physio to see what they can do. I'll just be happy being able to ride a bike again, it's not been much fun the last 5-6 months struggling to do the things we normally take for granted.

1988 Stumpjumper Epic (former Cindy Whitehead Frame)

Re: I don't do this to make money so what others have bought and sold the bike for is of little consequence to me. Surely you can appreciate that this is a small part of our sports history and deserves some acknowledgement at least, regardless of its weight in noodles. If not then I think you...

1988 Stumpjumper Epic (former Cindy Whitehead Frame)

Re: I'm afraid not. The bike is pretty much finished but a house move and a knackered lower back has put paid to any bike building or riding (or work for that matter :? ) for quite some time. I've got several projects I'm keen to get on with but until I'm fit again I just don't know when I'll...

Raleigh Appalachian Late 80's early 90's for sale

Re: They must have just fitted the original decals on it even though it's not 531 anymore. It may be a mix of Titanium main tubes and steel rear end either a Dynatech or M-Trax frame from 93-94. There are a few other examples on here which are similar in that they have a newer replacement frame...

Raleigh Appalachian Late 80's early 90's for sale

Re: looks like a 93ish Dynatech frameset painted (partly) in Appalachian colours. So really just the components and wheels that are original. Is there a frame decal at the bottom of the seat tube that says what this is made from?

    1991 Offroad Proflex 750 - Gravel Retro-mod!!

Re: I found out the same after I'd cut the front mech cable on the Cindercone I've got  I managed to get a few spares though off eBay and Amazon, think they were the Jagwire and possibly Clarks ones.

New (again) Loch Tay ride - Autumn 2018

Re: Jeezo that sounds nasty, hope it's just just soft tissue as you say. Seems life has a habit of bringing as back down to earth just as we make plans lol. My back still is not 100% but I'm doing everything I can to get fit again, makes you appreciate just being able to move freely!

    1996/7 Santa Cruz Heckler

Re: 1976...........are you sure?? Pricing is very subjective, put it up at a price you're happy with and if there's no interest then lower it until there is. Some pictures and details, including frame size for one, will help with your sale. Bikes and parts are very rarely worth what you think...

    MacRetro chat and rides thread

Re: Another vote for Continental GP 4 Season tyres from me. They seem to be pretty tough, roll nicely and never noticed them being particularly difficult to fit (although it depends on the rim/tyre combination). If you shop around you can get deals for a pair with tubes sometimes as they're not...

    And today I did......

Re: Cheers Clubby, time will tell if it's the right move but I had to do something to get my life back. Was sick of living out of a suitcase and the constant driving back and forth was doing my nut in. The new place has a garage so this will become a full on man cave once I get it fixed up and...
