Re: I've used alloy bolts on rear brakes for years with no problems, but would not trust them on the front. Titanium would be fine on the front with the P2 fork.

They were not "bad" bikes, just not as special as the original Kleins. They turned into Trek frames with special paint and stickers, same for Bontrager by the end of their run.

I would agree with around 2002 based on the disc mount, I have the same adaptor for a Fisher from 02-04. A 1998 frame would have the 22mm mount.

Rear brake looks a little dangerous. This would be an earlier frame that does not have clearance for v-brakes.

Last summer I had the chain skip off a worn pulley and get jammed between the pulley and cage. As soon as I pedaled the derailleur got pulled into the wheel locking it up, broke the hanger bolt and bent the hanger. STS lobo's were only made for one year in 98 then they switched to aluminum.

Re: 2000 Gary Fisher Supercaliber Your Mt Tam is a 99 and the Saab Supercal is a 2000. I started with a 99 Ziggurat which was one below the Tam, then did a frame upgrade the following year.

Re: Re: I have a set of those, rode them hard for a couple years. Yes they do flex, but it's not bad with a decent set of v-brakes. With a flexy set of v-brakes it's a different story, plan ahead for when to slow down.
