    Classic Kona Seatpost options

Re: Syncros made pretty much every possible seatpost size, a 27.0 may not be common anymore but there have to be lots out there. I do agree about 26.6 being a rare oddball. I've been looking for something nice to go on my 94 Cinder Cone, a cheap Kalloy seems to be the only option with enough...

DBR Axis Team Titanium/ X-Lite tribute...

Re: I've used alloy bolts on rear brakes for years with no problems, but would not trust them on the front. Titanium would be fine on the front with the P2 fork.

93 OCLV weightweenie Project *Latest weigh-in pg. 22*

Re: 93 OCLV weightweenie Project *Shedding more weight* I bought aluminum crank bolts years ago for my weightweenie build trying to get close to 18lbs but could never convince myself to install them.

Re: 93 OCLV weightweenie Project *Shedding more weight* Try KCNC foam grips. They are skinnier and a denser material, oh and they are 15g/pair.

Post Trek KLEIN - are they really as bad a people make out?

They were not "bad" bikes, just not as special as the original Kleins. They turned into Trek frames with special paint and stickers, same for Bontrager by the end of their run.

    So I bought a Klein...ish...

I would agree with around 2002 based on the disc mount, I have the same adaptor for a Fisher from 02-04. A 1998 frame would have the 22mm mount.

Thank you fotorat1 for getting this going again! I have to dig some bikes out of storage and decide what to enter.

    How old??

I always enjoy these discussions as it's been a long time since the 97 cutoff point was introduced. 1997 still makes sense as a time when technology made a significant change. I am starting to see the period around 2009 being another important time and end of an era. My 09 Yeti ASR has 26"...

The GT STS Thread Members Bikes and Tech Info

Rear brake looks a little dangerous. This would be an earlier frame that does not have clearance for v-brakes.

Jockey wheels - does it matter if they're worn?

Last summer I had the chain skip off a worn pulley and get jammed between the pulley and cage. As soon as I pedaled the derailleur got pulled into the wheel locking it up, broke the hanger bolt and bent the hanger. New pulleys would have been cheaper and less work, plus walking home carrying the...

    2000 Gary Fisher Supercaliber. Finished ! !

Re: 2000 Gary Fisher Supercaliber Your Mt Tam is a 99 and the Saab Supercal is a 2000. I started with a 99 Ziggurat which was one below the Tam, then did a frame upgrade the following year.

    Cheap chinese bits.

Re: Re: I have a set of those, rode them hard for a couple years. Yes they do flex, but it's not bad with a decent set of v-brakes. With a flexy set of v-brakes it's a different story, plan ahead for when to slow down.
