Lots of great options I could have used 2 or 3 votes this month.

    Bike work stand

I bought a Park Tool consumer stand 20 years ago and it has been a great investment. I was too cheap to buy their tool tray and made my own, very handy to have one.

    Dean titanium full suspension

The aluminum model was called the "Bam Bam". There are a few photos of them on the web and looks pretty similar to the one for sale.

    Dean titanium full suspension

The made an aluminum version as well and it looks to have an Amp rear end. I would assume the titanium version is very rare.

Which SRT-800 x-ray gripshifts crack? + grip question

Re: Which were the SRT-800 x-ray gripshifts that would crack? Oh trust me I know. I replaced brand new XT rapid-fire shifters and canti's so that I could get the cool clear grip shift and IBC Hydroceps brakes. The shifters broke and the front brake failed several times.

Do you buy your bikes to ride or just look at?

I should add that a couple of project bikes I have on the go aren't my size. One is a bike I always wanted and one is a bike I regret selling, both were good deals and it was hard to say no. Will I ride them both? Yes Will I ride them far and often? No

Do you buy your bikes to ride or just look at?

My former Mountain Cycles was so mint that it was to look at. However I did take it for a short ride just to see what it was like. All other have been for riding, with 10ish bikes some don't get out too often. I managed to get out on 7 of them last year, only 1 complete rideable bike stayed...

Which SRT-800 x-ray gripshifts crack? + grip question

Re: Which were the SRT-800 x-ray gripshifts that would crack? While they looked cool at the time, who really needs a clear shifter so they can see inside? I managed to crack a much older 9 speed shifter a few years ago, some epoxy and scrap carbon brought it back to life.

Bike of the Month January 2020 - THE VOTE

Has there ever been such a close month? I'm not surprised it ended up this way it was hard to decide which bike to vote for.

BotM February 2020 nominations - Blue Collar Special

Enjoying this month so far, I do wonder why we have these debates about what's allowed. Just remember it is up to the voters to decide which bike fits the criteria and is the best of that bunch. Someone can enter a C26 but it won't be getting my vote!

The old 26er vs 29er again...

This topic still comes up a lot but as noted earlier bikes have changed so much in 10 years it is impossible to do a fair comparison. I would be cool if someone built a 26" wheel bike with modern geometry, stiffer forks, wider tires, etc. to get a real head to head battle and what wheel size...

    Weight weenie grips

Ritchey also made a lighter version of that grip, I think and was the WCS Ergo and 36g. KCNC are my modern choice for light grips.
