    Quick Colnago Question

I've always found that Italian bikes tend to be a bit shorter in the top tube than say British bikes, so if I was looking to buy something for me with a 56 top tube, I'd have to buy something like a 57

    What the hell is this??

Under bracket cable routing and plastic cable tunnel suggests something from the mid 80s

rBoTM RBotM June 2024 - Theme Month - Retro Tourers! Enter Now!

They're a lot more special than us. Every bolt has to be anodised in the exact shade. The road section will show something 80% retro with shed parts making up the rest. And the road bikes are ridden, not just wall hangers.

For Sale Neil Orrell. Very Rare

Concealed brake cables and clipless pedals mean as it stands, it's not suitable for Eroica. Note - I hate criticising ads, I usually leave it to any potential buyer and the seller, but wouldn't like someone to buy it on the basis of the Eroica claim, to find it's not compliant

    Shimano Ultegra/600 downtube shifter issue.

When I fitted shifters to my titanium frame, the tube has an ovalised profile, so the probable fit best would have been the large radius ones, I didn't know you could get different fittings. I thought it's a remnant from history and you either fit what you have or buy something completely...

    Engineer V Marketing...

The thing with ovens is, you don't need to know anything and they have loads of gas-safe built-in safety devices. Plus you can't just buy a cheapy and connect it yourself, you can't even get the fittings. Any legitimate qualified engineer wouldn't even fit something he thought might be...

    Shimano 600 RD-6208...Spring Tension Issue.

Remove the pin, wind it back beyond the stop and screw the stop back in. Better if one can hold and wind the mech and a friend replaces the stop

    Bike storage/workshop. Your thoughts, experiences

If the garden allows it, I got a sectional concrete garage erected in the back garden ,but with a passenger door instead of a conventional garage door. I did all the base work myself.

    Fixed cup removal (with pics)

Never seen this idea before, so thanks A record vice across the flats and turning the frame has never failed me so far, but there is a risk it could slip

Cogwalls, remember those. ya' know, when you wear out that cog you always used. what happened¿

Agreed, they owned it in terms of aspirations, but in what was out there for off the peg bikes it was Shimano, Huret, simplex and good ol' sturmey archer

Cogwalls, remember those. ya' know, when you wear out that cog you always used. what happened¿

My interpretation is ... Remember the big maillard sprocket boards where you could buy individual sprockets to fit onto your freewheel body? Very useful if you wore out one cog before the others. Or you wanted a specific ratio. Well, now you can't do that, the industry just sells you a whole...
