Hi, I know this is back in 2022 but I like to find out did the yeti stepped ferrules worked for the early Bontrager Race or Race Lite?

I used regular ferrules for the cable housing for now. It needs the front brake cable and housing. A ti bontrager handlebar is coming in a few days.

Do you know where I can get the stepped ferrules 5/3.8 mm? I need them for the 90 Race Lite build.

Thank you for the link but the ferrules are not stepped. I think the one I am looking for according to your build posts is 5 to 3.8 mm stepped.

Carge, you did a great job on your 91 Race. I was cabling my Race Lite and found out I do not have any stepped ferrules for the brake and derailleur cables. Where did you get them? Did you finally use the silver or black ones?

We have three of the 500 RockCombo bikes. The rainbow bar tape one is my bike and off white tires one is my son’s bike in Fort Collins, Colorado. John, our friend has one in Boulder.

My 1990 Race Lite under reconstruction. Painted original deep purple and new decals. Will install xtr m900 components, rear Spinergy x wheel, front black Mavic wheel, RockCombo stem, Ritchey handlebar, and yellow Bontrager flat pedals. Undecided on tires.

I have two apple green Kona to share - 1993 TET Hot green to gold fade and 1998 Hot green/purple with matching green fork.

Love your special color comb. I have a custom 1988 Explosif -black with blue and yellow (deep space color). I got it several weeks ago in Denver Colorado.

By the way, the serial number for this Explosif is A3030854. Which shop is A?

I do not think so. In 1993, the US Kona models were all two tones. The last time I saw a dark green Explosif on internet was from South Africa.

I have an unusual world color - dark green 1993 Explosif as well.
