Well done and all, but I would be more impressed had the bike been standard.

Am I so out of touch with modern cycling?

Is it a Zaskar? Steel is real (or related Carbon Fibre bashing)

Am I so out of touch with modern cycling?

Second paragraph of the OP talks about not acknowledging other cyclists. You’re right though, topics such as this have been done to death and I would like to see an end to them. More tribalism is the last thing anyone needs in any area of life at the moment. I’m just happy to see people...

Hog Tie them Tresspassing E bikers : )

Landowner physically assaults and kidnaps cyclists for riding ‘cheeky trails’. Hmmmm.

    Retro vs modern

And for years afterwards they all sat around moaning about how these new pneumatic tyres aren’t compatible with the old rims and how brakes now needed cables and weren’t as direct as good old rods and how the ‘industry’ is just changing things for marketing sake.

    Peak Cheapness?

Anyone in this game for a profit would be better off making these… https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/296588638299?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=d7EltSzoQhq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=HrYjPeMeQZG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

    Lotus Sport, XTR, Bristol

£450 is too much for a part XTR group of unknown condition and a £50 frame. £100 less and it would be close IMHO.

    Peak Cheapness?

Hypothetically is doing some pretty heavy lifting there. Well done on having the means and ability to purchase a new car in such a way as to be able to profit when you sell 😉 Rare and unusual exceptions, as per my first post.

    Peak Cheapness?

If you were the only one bidding and you paid the start price, you were the only one that wanted the bike at that price, you over paid. Many cars do, most don’t. All prices fluctuate. I’ve seen your car threads, Audi r8 etc, not exactly run of the mill.

    Peak Cheapness?

This. If you buy a bike from eBay and you’ve bought it for the start price because you were the only bidder, you’ve overpaid. I’m seeing a lot of this at the moment with people thinking they’ve got bargains but the truth is, no one else wanted the bike at that price…. Not a single other...

I was barracked- why am I happy?

Regulation of vehicle lights ends the minute the car leaves the show room. The amount of vehicles I encounter with broken, poorly adjusted or illegally customised lights (front and rear) is staggering, not to mention those that use full beam and nothing else. My bike lights make drivers...
