Cerakote for £100?! Where?

It’s Triple S at Bingley.. £225 plus VAT for frame, fork and stem. Expensive, certainly. I really didn’t realise just how good armortex in London were … Shame they closed.

I’ve ended up screwing a tiny bolt in. The tube feels otherwise strong. I’ll just pretend it’s some sort of grease-port and get on with my life !

Ironically, I noticed the tube was sealed at the bottom and had concerns about water collection- so I drilled a drain hole though the BB as a precaution before I sent it to the paint shop. Seems I was right, but a few years too late

Apparently they assumed it was some sort of drain hole! They have offered to re-do the job after I get it sorted, but getting it brazed/welded seems overkill. I just want to seal the tube for now.

I’m feeling slightly gutted this afternoon after paying just shy of £300 to get a tandem powder-coated, only for the blasting process to expose a hole in the bottom of the seat tube. The tube has always been sealed at the base, so water must’ve seeped in and rusted / weakened the side over...
