    1989 Rock Mountain Blizzard Slope

For my tubulars, I got some Tufo rim tape and they went on with only a small fight :) But I guess it's a way smaller fight than when you actually glue them on. Also, Tufo still make new 26" tubulars.

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

I painted the Magura's. They came out very nice. Now to build them back up. I have a service set, so that should be relatively easy. I was looking for the decals, but I cannot find them anywhere. At least not the ones that are supposed to go on the levers. Any ideas?

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

I was thinking about a stainless ring that goes outside of the bottom headtube, not a complete new insert like that German guy did. Make it 0.05mm too small and heat it up to put it in place. Should work well I guess. I'm still tinkering with the bike, the specs are not final. I found an XTR...

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

I started work on the Magura's. I dismantled the whole system, drained all the oil and sanded the crusty paint down to the bare metal. I have to do the same for the front set and then I can start rebuilding. I need to order the quick-release bolts, they were not in the package. I'm also going to...

Rocky Mountain Vertex 1996 (Revolution Cranks Content)

Looks way better with the Syncros cranks. Almost every bike does :) I had a set on my Element in the 90's, but they cracked. I sold them for 200 euro with the defect, very sought after cranks.

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

I got a 2K can of RAL 3000 fire engine red from the local hardware store. I didn't know they sold 2K cans. They come in a limited selection of colors, but it will save the 2K clear coat. I took the bike out for some outside pictures, sadly the sun didn't want to come out. I spotted the brace of...

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

Working on the Edge... I got some Magura HS22 raceline brakes, they are a bit worn out and the rears don't have oil in them. In the 90s I had a Zaskar LE with the same set and I sprayed them plain yellow, as the fluor yellow really clashed with the decals. I'm definitely going to paint them, but...

    Spinergy carbon wheels

I bought them for the yellow bike. But they look so good in the other bikes as well :) Maybe I should get more sets :)

GT RTS Team? Or is it? Any GT experts out there?

Ah, okay. I remember this discussion in my RTS build thread. I wasn't sure if mine was RTS-1 or RTS team. But mine did have the alu rear end.

GT RTS Team? Or is it? Any GT experts out there?

If the RTS-2 of that year had the 6061-T6 alu front triangle (like it says in that scan), it is identical to the team frame, right?

GT RTS Team? Or is it? Any GT experts out there?

It has the flat top tube end cap. And the piggyback shock. The team model had the better parts, so without the original decals it's hard to say.

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

It looks like a bike now. I found some XT-M737 cranks. They are not mint, but will do for now. I have a battered Magura HS22 raceline set underway. I think I'll respray that in red to mimic the Tomac special edition. Stem is a titanium Specialized unit and I borrowed my titanium Syncros and...

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

I also think the rear shock needs a service, there's a lot of air in the damper. You can hear it squish when it compresses. Ah well...

It arrived. Very nice condition I think. Just the decals are a bit tattered.

< 5 kg lightest MTB for races with components from 90's to 00's

A friend of mine that raced in the 90s-00s had a tricked-out Seven that he got down to 6.8 kg. He said it could weigh less if he used skinnier tires and some less reliable parts. He'd recon it would weigh around 6kg. Not sure if a carbon frame would shed 1 kg.
