    proflex 857 seatpost size?

    i am building up a proflex 857 but the 27.2 diameter seatpost that i have seems too tight yet fits perfectly well in my older preoflex 856 frame. is there any difference in the 857 as the catalogue lists it as having the same 27.2 diameter seat post size as the 856?

    Do you notice extreme negative views of none retrobikers when you say you are trying to work with an older bike?

    I ran 1 x drivetrains back in 94. Never liked front mechs. Yes I had terrible chain lines for the easy gears but living round Suffolk I mostly live in the top 3 or 4 gears.

    Got a proflex 857 that is sporting less than good paint....lots of stone chips and scratches. I really want to strip it and polish it and add new decals but the paint stripper I've got doesn't even touch it. It's likely meant for modern water based stuff. Does anyone know of a brand that works...

    I'm after the later style crosslink type forks that are the elites or later noleen versions would also be suitable. I already have a set off early crosslinks on a proflex 856 so am after the later ones for my next build.

    hi i am looking for parts to finish my proflex 857 and am now on the hunt for a good condition girvin elite to fit a size large frame (I believe there were two sizes of fork to suit different frame sizes). I would like one ideally with a good working shock. Thanks.
