    RST's rare foray into higher-end forks (1999)

Au contraire, this crown is fully bolted, but it's all round the back where you can't see it in the pic! That's why I'm selling it with a choice of two different steerers.

    RST's rare foray into higher-end forks (1999)

This is the successor to the Mozo Pro - without looking at the specs I don't know how they're an improvement, but they're meant to be even better. This is a great fork, but in 1999 I gave in and got a Pace RC36 instead because I was surrounded by snobs who kept telling me I shouldn't have an...

    RST's rare foray into higher-end forks (1999)

Check this out - I'm selling it on eBay more as an experiment than anything else because I'm interested - does anyone think it's worth more than 99p? In 1999, desperately uncool fork brand RST departed from the bottom-end and went after the slightly higher end of the market with the magnesium...

Cannondale P-Bone fork, newly refurbished white

Sorry, it's staying on eBay because that's part of the thrill of the gamble! I've already got people watching it and paid my insertion fee so I'm going to see this auction through to completion now. Between you and me though, the last two times this fork sold, it was for around the £45 mark...

Cannondale P-Bone fork, newly refurbished white

Clearly, as a fellow rider of old bicycles, you are no longer "one of the kids". ML can mean "My Luck" or indeed "My Life", and the F denotes a tone of distaste for the aforementioned... Anyway, for god's sake somebody buy this fork off me before I impale myself on its immaculate dropouts.

Cannondale P-Bone fork, newly refurbished white

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0375922906 I've had to re-list this fork AGAIN! It's an ultra-desirable fork, but all I'd say is please check (1) it'll fit your frame, and (2) can you afford to have it shipped to the other side of the world? As the kids say on internets...

Cannondale P-Bone fork, newly refurbished white

Eagle-eyed eBayers may have seen this beauty of a fork listed last week. I won it, but was too stupid to check my head tube measurements first! Duh. Here it is for sale once again then - happy bidding! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... :MESELX:IT

    World's rarest retro saddle?

Those Ideales look tasty, and clearly very expensive, but they come up on Google and mine doesn't so I still reckon I win!

    World's rarest retro saddle?

I've got this "Look" badged Selle San Marco Rolls saddle from the very early 90s, in red leather, with the usual gold rails and back plate. Unfortunately it's been well used (and loved), hence the wear and tear. I have two questions: 1. Is this the rarest saddle in the world? I was told...

    Anyone remember Zack Abely?

In the late 80s and early 90s there was "another" MTB magazine (besides MBUK). It was called Mountain Biker, or Mountain Biker International as I recall. It had the most bizarre cartoon in it called Zack Abely, but no amount of googling confirms whether this was ever real or if it's just a...

    Paging justbackdated (Pace content!)

Sorry to use the forum for this, but I PM'ed justbackdated and don't think it worked. As per my post last month, I'm looking to convert my Pace RC36 Evo fork to a 1" steerer, and need to buy the bits. PM me if you can sell me them! Cheers.

Reducer shim for Pace RC36 to 1in steerer

OK then, how do I go about buying these off you? Do you have a website? I think I'll start by just experimenting with the shim, and if that fails then I'll definitely get the Pace 1" steerer off you as well afterwards. I'm very excited about giving my old Pace fork a new lease of life!

Reducer shim for Pace RC36 to 1in steerer

Calling Justbackdated (or anyone else with that level of Pace knowledge)! I want to put the Pace fork (front) on the Dave Quinn bike (back). I've got a Pace RC36 evo fork with a 1-1/8in steerer, and I've got an old Dave Quinn with a 1in headset. I also have an old Marzocchi steel 1in...

    Maguras munching my rims!

Yikes, after another muddy winter off-roading it feels like my Magura HS33 rim brakes have munched their way into the braking surfaces on my Mavic rims. The braking surface feels concave and grooved. Has anyone else experienced this? At what point should I get a new rim? Anyone had any...

DT Hugi / S-Works front hub HELP!

I think I've posted something along these lines before, but now I can be more specific, and I've even taken a picture! My 1999 S-Works branded Hugi hub now appears to have sand instead of bearings in it. I've worked out how to change the cartridges but can't find replacements. The bearings...

    Groovy

oooOOOOoooh! I do love spectating when it all kicks off! This is almost as entertaining as going on a Liverpool FC fan site and saying "What's all this fuss about Robbie Fowler?" The difference though, in my observation, is that the backlash among my fellow retrobikers is slighly more...

What to do with this 1992 Dave Quinn?

I'd like to get this 1992 Dave Quinn 653 up and running as a fast commuter, in the style of an MBUK feature entitled "Roadie Chasing" from around the same era. As you can see, it's been spoiled by a nasty 1999 RST fork, and I'm ashamed to say I binned the 1" threaded straight-blade 653 original...

Show us your old CHEAP stuff!

All the kids had those black and white 15-speed mustangs in my day, but I haven't seen one for years. Would love to see a photo if anyone's got one. One mate had a Raleigh Maverick, 5-speed, and he'd managed to convince all us 11-year-olds that it was the racier version of the Mustang -...

Team Raleigh Dyna-Tech ex Adrian Timmis, thanks for helping.

Drool. I had an MBUK poster of the team, including that actual bike, on my wall as a kid. I'd say that bike represents the exact time when my schoolboy MTB obsession was at its absolute peak, and I mean it was intense! I could have reeled off its entire original spec list for you as a teenager...
