Anyone else throwing a bike together today?

Have tape on the bars now, took 3 weeks to get from LA, haha. The shipping went through Washington state then to me in SF area. Looks decent for my first try at wrapping bar tape.

The cranks have a snowflake look to them and black Race Face would be nicer.

RM20's in polished version. The only ones I have ever seen in 30 years of collecting. They were in ok shape, never polished, so I spent an hour bringing them back to what they were.

Anyone else throwing a bike together today?

Have all of the mechs working via Dura Ace 8 speed bar end shifters, friction mode. Rear brake (105 levers) was tricky since it is a U brake but all working now but took a bit of time to get it right. Front is next challenge. Have to possibly undo everything to take the stem out and put on a...

    Ritchey P21

It is a 19" center BB to top of seat tube. Fits me well and the seat post is long, Interloc.

    Ritchey P21

Ripped the fork down since it was not rebounding, Risse Gem was shot. Had a spare and replaced it n now it's like new. Springs in there as well, no elastomers. Did a bit of cleaning, first time this bike has been cleaned by me since I have owned it, 15+ years. Working on ding on TT with a lot of...

Anyone else throwing a bike together today?

Started this yesterday, first attempt at a dirt drop bike. Prestige lugged Jamis Dakar with Deore parts all over. Been trying to sell this but nobody likes Jamis in my area. If it all comes together I'll post pics. Nitto DD bars and a very long Nitto DD stem, Dura Ace 8 speed bar ends (friction...

Picked this up a few days ago but have no luck with serial number, seems it's not matching others posted. Fork is marked 97 Z3 so possible 97-98 frame, rear drops are TR. Mix of XTR, XT and LX components. Levers are Real so likely swapped out at some point. Any info would be appreciated.

    1991 Rocky Mountain Hammer

Wow! 3 of these already. Mine was around 100 bucks about 15-20 years ago. Not original are the tires and bar, rest is.

    Very unusual bike

I bought a 1 1/8" XTR headset, did not have one, and is to arrive today so I got the bike prepped. After taking the stem off and the top nut I see it's a 1 1/4" headset. How many builders in the early 90's used 1 1/4" head tubes? My Ultimate has and I see some of the XTR on eBay 1 1/4", just...

    Centurion Titanium SX from 1992/94

Way cool build and lots of exotic jewelry adorned on your bike, love it. So looking at the numbers from a Weight Weenie point of view which seems your path, these are below weights of what you have and not exotic. I have a few more to show you that were massed produced and stand up to or beat...

    Wanted JP Morgen seat mast

I looked at every option to have it cut and rewelded but in the end it will not give me the intended dimensions that would be needed for the frame. Plus, if someone has one with the shorter mast and is looking for a longer one then I totally blew up their hope. I have a Accu Trax fork for my...

    Wanted JP Morgen seat mast

I know this is a very long shot but there are many people on the forums so I need to try. The frame I believe came in one size only and used different seat mast sizes to accommodate size of riders. The mast I have is 15 inches overall length and a few inches shorter is what I need. If someone...

    Very unusual bike

Was going through the local ads in the Bay Area and ran across this very unusual bike that was made here in San Francisco many years ago. I inquired about it and the gentleman who was selling it had quite a collection of desirable bikes that we all love. The pictures in the ad were not worthy of...
