suntour qloc quick release any info

Plastic sleeve - spring - collet - barrel adjuster. Inside the barrel adjuster is a black part, the metal cylinder is supposed to slide on it but can stick. Try holding the lever end and giving the barrel a tug. If the collet opens then adjust tension and close the lever

suntour qloc quick release any info

Serviced a bike for a mate who had this type of QR. If the barrel is wound in too far the collet wont open. Also needs to be clean and free of grease or it can stick closed.

    Rattle can respray

Body Pro P961 primer (olive). Custom Canz "Military Swamp Green" base. Spray Max 2K Epoxy clear - Matte. For filling I used TechniQ Super Fine. Various grades of 3M wet/dry and a 1000 grit 3M DA pad were also used. More on the project here...

2005 Trek Top Fuel 110 Team Issue - Repair and Restomod

After more stress and anxiety than I can bear, yesterday I finnished the frame. I didn't get any photos of the final process because I was hyper focused on getting it right. What I did was first to lightly sand over the decals with 400 grit. I then wet sanded to whole frame with 800 grit to get...

2006 Kona Kula Primo -- scruffy rider

Thats going to be a fast bike  Ive always had a soft spot for Kona hardtails and my last bike was year 2000 Kona Kula. It was surprisingly forgiving and not at all harsh, but still super responsive when pedaling.

2005 Trek Top Fuel 110 Team Issue - Repair and Restomod

Base colour applied followed by decals and satin epoxy clear. Final finish will be matte but as I had the satin clear going spare I decided to use it first to build up material that can be flatted back before applying the matt finish. I've applied about 4 coats over the decals and 2 over the...

2005 Trek Top Fuel 110 Team Issue - Repair and Restomod

After drying for a couple of hours even the problem areas I mentioned have levelled off. Its amazing how this stuff does that.

2005 Trek Top Fuel 110 Team Issue - Repair and Restomod

This morning I gave the frame a good once over and masked up ready to apply the primer. Had a couple of areas where there was a bad reaction. So tomorrow I'll have to sort a few bits before I put the base colour on. Nothing ever goes smoothly with this f-in bike 😆 Onwards and upwards.

Got a set of decals for a modern Top Fuel 9.8. Won't be using the full set, only the main Trek decals, headtube badge, and 'Top Fuel' minus the 9.8 bit 😆

2005 Trek Top Fuel 110 Team Issue - Repair and Restomod

I had a little grey primer left over. It's the Body Pro P961 which I really like as it levels off really well and sands nicely. I used it to spot prime a few key areas to give me a extra layer of material to level sand and make sure everything is smooth. Tomorrow I'll go over the whole frame...

2005 Trek Top Fuel 110 Team Issue - Repair and Restomod

Yesterday I gave the whole frame a good wet sanding down. First lightly with 180 grit followed by a more vigerous going over with 400 grit. Then filled where necessary followed by more 400 grit wet sanding.

    1999 RockShox Deluxe servicing

Give TF Tuned a bell. Ive found them usually quite helpful with technical queries 👍 There has to be a way in there of they'd never have gotten the seal head/shim stack inside the shock body. Wonder if its under the sticker? 165 x 38mm is a common shock size so finding a replacement shouldnt be...

' Hybrid / emtb' Brake Upgrade - question now resolved.

Your front is post mount so a +20mm post mount adapter is needed. Rear you need a 180mm 'Post-mount to I.S' adapter. I second the idea to just get bigger rotors. Also new pads. Sintered pads offer more power but can be noisy in wet weather. Either way new pads and bigger rotors should see a...
