My 1993 Rockhopper Sport commuter bike along with my 1991 S-Works Cross. While the Cross is mostly original, I traded the Exage parts for Deore LX on the Rockhopper. Much better!

@Guigui58 Kona Cinder Cone 1991. Although the drivetrain has been modernized a bit, the rest of the bike is mostly original. I use it pretty often alternating with my more modern bike! After a typical ride :

I like them, not very agressive and fast rolling so they're perfect if you use them on asphalt and light gravel.

Last minute change of heart, I decided to save the dropbar conversion for later and go with flat bars for now. The only dropbars I have on hand were probably made for a track bike; the sections where the shifters are supposed to clamp are too narrow. I never could stop them from moving around...

Pretty sure it was made in Japan like you say. This isn't a "Made in the USA" model, the decal on the top tube simply says "Designed in the USA".

Yes I used first gen. Deore XT (Deerhead) on the 86 Blizzard (and Suntour XC Power roller cam brakes at the back)!
