Great news. Ebay drops seller charges!

Business sellers still pay fees. Still a pretty big move, though. They increasingly push promoting your listings for a fee, so I imagine that sort of thing is what they will be doing more.

Perfect winter club ride Van Nick Ventus Ti Athena 11sp £550

Very nice indeed - shame it doesn't have mudguard eyelets, though.

I've bought from this seller before and had no issues.

Withdrawn 80s-90s Flite (or similar) saddle

I'm looking for a saddle for a 1993 build - it needs to be in nice condition with only minimal marks at the most. A Flite would be ideal, but anything similar might work too - nothing with big graphics, etc, though. I can get a new Flite for £50, so I'm looking to spend less than that...

Ah, thanks - in that case 8 or 9 speed!

Wanted Campagnolo long cage 8/9 speed rear derailleur

Now I'm just after an 8 speed rear derailleur - with minimal marks. Anything Athena and upwards...

rBoTM RBotM September 2024 - Open Month - Entries now Open!!!

That Union is rather lovely – it would be nice to see more photos of it, though I guess you'd need to put those in a different thread. It must be a pretty rare thing. I also love that typically awkward team photo!

    Today's Ride

Oh yes, I’d missed that I had actually strayed into another county! That’s what happens when you only just live in Yorkshire. I will have to edit that…

    Today's Ride

Admittedly not the most scenic shot, but this is something I had to do – two MB Dronfield bikes making it back to their birthplace. It's actually only about a 12 mile ride there taking a scenic route, but it did involve lending one of these bikes to my neighbour, who is thankfully exactly the...

Croll R753 withe some VGC Record Titanium bits

That's an absolute bargain for £295 (speaking as someone who is going to spend £300 on a paint job and god knows how much more on various parts to end up with a bike that is a lower spec than this one... 😂 ).

Removing a stuck Mavic 610 unthreaded bottom bracket...any ideas?

Yes, caustic is always an option. Once the axle and bearings are removed it will just be the BB body stuck in there, which one way or another can be gotten out. I would prefer to save the BB, but realistically that's probably not really an option. I had naively thought that being unthreaded, it...

Removing a stuck Mavic 610 unthreaded bottom bracket...any ideas?

Thanks for the thoughts, all. I'm pretty sure you're right @bikeworkshop - I can't really see much chance of getting it out with twisting. I have often questioned the wisdom of putting holes in the bottom of a BB shell, and this is definitely one of those times! Luckily the frame is in a poor...

Removing a stuck Mavic 610 unthreaded bottom bracket...any ideas?

You would think that might help, but the problem is that in fact using a pin spanner on those parts will only unscrew the outer cap (part 003 shown in this diagram), not the actual body of the BB.

Removing a stuck Mavic 610 unthreaded bottom bracket...any ideas?

I have a frame with a very stuck Mavic 610 BB, which is an unthreaded BB - the only threaded parts are the outer ends which stick outside the BB shell which the lockrings thread onto. Once the lockrings are off, it should be loose in the frame and just come out. Unsurprisingly given the state of...

    Vitus 992 project

Beautiful. I'm not always a fan of deeper section wheels (even when period correct, as of course these are), but they really work with this frame. And those skewers are quite something! Did you get the Flite saddle from Condor? I noticed the other day that they sell them and I've got my eye on...

    Miche Superfast rear hub question

This is a rather niche Miche question, but I have a rear Superfast hub which I was looking to service, and it seems like they have an unusual design, unless I'm slightly losing my marbles (which is always possible). The axle is only threaded at the non-drive side end, at the other end the cone...

Any Ideas? 1980s or 1990s Bicycle Fame?

That style of Reynolds decal was in use from 1989 onward, so it's 1989-mid 90s era.

Sold THM’s Temper Tantrum Campagnolo sales thread. Price drop

Nice to see a bit of Buttertubs. I'd happily take the Mirage headset, but if this is now for sale as part of the groupset on eBay, I guess parts aren't available individually any more?

Wanted Campagnolo long cage 8/9 speed rear derailleur

Will do - but as I might want one of those chainsets after all, do you mind if I hold off until I see what I can do with the rough Chorus one I''ll be getting? Then if I do need one, you can send it with the brakes at the same time? Hopefully it'll arrive in a few days or so. I'll confirm as...
