    Ultralite?

I held off from posting this on the 'marketplace' thread as couldn't work out what it was. Glad it's gone to someone on here though.

    Navigation in the Modern World

I tend to explore Google maps on my laptop if I'm heading on a ride which my paper maps don't cover. But, question for RBers - I've had strava in the past as sometimes I like to see how far I've gone etc BUT I don't like the performance stats; I find you end up pushing yourself harder than...

Saw this one myself as local-ish to me. I like it, sadly a bit big for me.

Cheers all. Regards the Freehub, there are 2 x things to address. 1. The shorter freehub currently on the bike won't take 8 speed (or might do with a bit of playing with spacers / cogs). 2. The longer freehub (which would take 8 speed) doe not work with the way the freehub is attached to the...

Thanks for this. Photo attached from side-on. The left is the one I need, the right is another one I tried, but the washer won't fit into the end. Thanks

Yes you are right, just tooth clearance. Couldn't use the 34t "as-is" as it fouls by quite a lot (hard to make out on the photos). A 32 might work though, will see if I've got one to try. That is an option but I would be a little hesitant as it's made from aluminium and there wouldn't be much...

    British Eagle 531 - £40

04/07/23 Couple of jobs done last night. Removed the grips and the grip-shifter. 2 minutes right? Wrong. Shifter bolt completely seized and it’s only a 2.5mm allen key fitting, so brute force is a no-go – the allen key(s) were just twisting! None of the “tricks” would budge it and I wasn’t...

Cheers for all the replies. Another hour cracked off this eve, new headset in place (brand-x sealed jobby from crc - seems good quality, spesh for a tenner), front wheel bearings removed and replaced (2 x different sizes!) and had a quick go at cleaning up the brake drums. They're in a bit of a...

29/06/23 Had an hour in the garage. Forks removed (again), crown race removed. New crown race fitt.........oh hang on, how the hell do I get the new crown race on?! A piece of Henry Hoover got me started, but the diameter was only enough to knock it on flush with the top of the 'shim'. So...

Dawes 1994 Super Galaxy 531 + Colourful Ortlieb panniers, Old Man Mountain rack, King Ti cages, DMR V12 Mag pedals

I've got Pannier envy! Those are ace. I'd just oil a bolt up and wind it in and out a few times to clean the threads. Then once satisfied clean off any excess oil, put some copper grease on the bolt and wind it back in for good.
