    Stem length / rise question

I had another glance over the bike last night and I am not convinced that the height of the stem is the issue to be honest. Compared to my other bikes, the Explosif riding position measures pretty similar, and the bar height isn't drastically lower than the saddle height, no more so than my...

    Stem length / rise question

Cheers. Recently added the brooks cambium which, helpfully, has plenty of scope for moving forwards/backwards. For the ride last night I moved it forward 5mm but there is loads of room to go backwards to give me more reach.

    Stem length / rise question

Cheers, will have a look. When I put the bike together I was keen to use the right parts, and make it look half nice. But I've changed my mind now and just want to make it purely functional. Other than the minor issue with wrist pain, it's a comfy ride and handles fine for me. Plus I wanted a...

    Stem length / rise question

My Explosif is not quite as comfy as I would like it to be. It's too small, so already runs 60mm riser bars, with a 90mm thomson stem (15 degree rise I think). I have got it close to a nice fit, the reach is fine, but I'm just getting a little wrist pain. No scope to move the stem up as the...

    Today's Ride

Weather, illness and family time has halted any exotic rides to distant places recently. But I'm trying to get a couple of local miles in of an evening, just to keep the legs free and my sanity intact.

There is a also a Bob Ibex for more "off-road" duties (its got suspension). And I think Topeak do a similar single wheeler. But the original Bob Yak is the one I'd be going for.

    Dawes Synthesis 653 LX Carlisle

Anyone go for it in here? I messaged the seller today asking him what size it measures at. He says 19" and someone is already arranging a courier for it. If it falls through I might have to go and get it. Great tubeset, groupset, right size (ish), mint condition, I even like the colour and the...

Just bought a 2006 Kona Explosif -non-suspension forks advice /recommendations please.

Quite a few options depending on budget and material preference. These look quite nice. https://www.velozone.co.uk/products/identiti-xc-rigid-445-mm-steel-forks-black?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9f2_5ZaQgAMVHIFQBh30KguVEAQYByABEgIfwvD_BwE

Just bought a 2006 Kona Explosif -non-suspension forks advice /recommendations please.

You can get late project IIs which will work, they will need to be 425 or 445mm axle-crown. I've got a set on an earlier Lava Dome and they are fantastic, provision for disk AND canti mounts, and very comfy. My 2008 explosif is running some carbon forks from Exotic Carbon. 445mm. I'm still...
