    8Freight Cargo bike - restoration / project

Looking at that early Black one in Velo Vision 09, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that it's the same bike as documented on this thread. The basket shape is similar (which differs to later versions) as well as a couple of other similarities with the (older) frame design. What do you...

    Today's Ride

The most boring post you will read all day. Rode to Decathlon at a local shopping park to buy a nice bell. Typically they didn't have it in stock! 16 miles round trip, on main roads. Notable that it was probably the fastest 16 miles I've ever done, looking at the time it took.

    8Freight Cargo bike - restoration / project

This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to see such rapid and great progress. Nice one! Also, relief, as some of these fixes go beyond my skillset; I'd have been stuck!!

A majestic fleet!! Interesting to see how each frame differs slightly. Didn't realise that the mech hanger should be bonded rather than bolted. Joe

    8Freight Cargo bike - restoration / project

Ey up For various reasons (or excuses), I offered this to LunarBike on here who, despite having a couple already , kindly accepted, so it's gone! A shame to not finish an interesting project, but realistically wasn't going to get done (and used) anytime soon, and I want to focus on...

    8Freight Cargo bike - restoration / project

One thing I need to do on mine: when I replaced the bearings, didn't use loctite. So every time I take the wheel off, the bearings just fall out. Before "final" assembly (once I've done the brakes etc) I'll clean the races back up and dry them, then loctite them in!

    8Freight Cargo bike - restoration / project

Certainly completely different to mine. As far as I know on mine, the axle is pressed into the wheel hub, and not designed to come away. So taking the wheel off = removing the axle! (by drifting the axle from the drive side). I have a tapered drift which worked, but the right size long socket...

You'll have to take the rear wheel off, which will pull the axle through and release the freehub (I think). Mine might be different to yours though. @mynchiboy may be able to offer a better explanation!!!

    Toddler seats

One good thing about the "rear" seat was that it tilted, in case the child fancies a kip. But definitely made my old cannondale's 'stays 'sway' quite a bit when climbing steep hills.

    Toddler seats

Good times, bombing through the woods!!! Got 2 little one's now, so it's a trailer this year

    Toddler seats

WeeRide. Doesn't interfere with cables at all, it sit's on it's own bar which spans between the seatpost and headtube. I had a CoPilot rear (rack mounted) seat first, which was fine also, but I much prefer the handling of a top-tube mounted seat, especially if you intend on riding away from roads.

Anyone running TPU inner tubes yet?

Thanks @novocaine - apologies, no offence intended & your 'full' reply provides much more of an insight to someone who knows nothing about these. Judging by the puncture issues it seems you've all encountered, don't think I'll bother. Possibly in future may get hold of one to keep in the...

Anyone running TPU inner tubes yet?

Really?! Saving 100+ grams from the rolling weight of each wheel...I think a lot of people rate them for that alone. Snake oil comment seems a bit......knee-jerk?
