    My Holdsworth special 1971......

Re: Frame identification help....I know I know Yes I guess so. Might be worth checking the ID of the seat tube, should be 27.2mm if you have a stem of that size handy. That would confirm 531 butted, in which case that going to be a good frame and looks well built. Also check the weight, my...

    My Holdsworth special 1971......

Re: Frame identification help....I know I know if the general consensus is a Holdsworth Shop Special build of some type then the number is consistent with early 70's 4 digit group. On present predictions from the limited numbers we have late 71 or early 72. I have attached this grouping sitting...

    My Holdsworth special 1971......

Re: Frame identification help....I know I know The number would fit with a early 70's shop contract build frame although the ones numbers we have collected so far seem to have Nervex Pro lugs for frames that aren't an obvious Holdsworth model. The things that look unusual is the very thin wrap...

    Claud Butler Coureur

Thanks, yes. While I was waiting I did a search for moss green and it has RAL number 6005. Plenty of cans of that around so i'll give some a go. Should have tried this first I guess.

    Claud Butler Coureur

Thanks to a friend having a clear out I am now the owner of a CB Coureur as well as Holdsworths. As you can see there is a bit of an issue going on with the forks to be dealt with, but the immediate plan is to put it on the Turbo trainer and do up the current frame on there. I wanted to clean it...

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers Update

You should get instruction with them as I remember, you need to follow them exactly, give Lloyd's a call if in doubt. If they say use soapy water then use plenty of it on both frame and decal. Some don't and some use meths in the mixture. I have used all sorts of late, but I think due to the...

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers Update

Tried to get some picture, not as easy as I thought! I have a comparison of the original decals against the large panel ones. They don't look too bad, but are they truly Kingfisher blue? they do match the originals though. As the paint was not too bad I tried to preserve it and touched it up...

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers Update

I would get the panels painted and use the letter decals. I tried those large panel decals, they aren't easy to fit and even though I got them from H Lloyd they didn't join up under the tube. They were too small so I had to fill the gap with paint. Also if you don't put an under coat on top of...

    Freddie Grubb Frame Numbers

I have added the Freddie Grubb numbers to the Holdsworth Frame number database taking information from the facebook group below. This can be accessed via the Holdswoth History site in the usual way. http://www.nkilgariff.com/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/157065691683015/

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers

I don't see the pump pin in the RT cat. on any bike. Can't help but think that would put the frame late 80's pos. early 90's. I think RT explains the stay and lack of cable eyes. Both did use letters at the start on occasion. Is there any frames in RT cats. latter that have the peg/pin?

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers

Interesting Falcon got raised above. I have been going through the 'odd' frames in the database and done a bit of work on these. I think the key thing here is the pump pip on the head tube. That is common on late 80's 531C frames such as my Roadace, so is the double bottle bosses, dropout wheel...
