Yes, I think I did. Normally pick up on these eventually. Yes going to be a Fixie to go with the Retro Pro.

    Claud Butler-Holdsworth frame numbers 1959-1976

Yes as said we are getting a number of CB frame that fit this group better. I have added this one to it. It does seem to be the earliest number, but fits the 1962 date for the start of production.

Thanks, already clocked that one else where. Thanks again.

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers

Thanks for the numbers, logged those. I assume these are both Mistrials? you didn't say for the blue one, but it looks that way to me.

    Holdsworth Frame Numbers

Yes, I Don't disagree with this, having a 4 Digit number it must pre-date the 6D numbers and be an early one of these models. The is a good element of uncertainty in the 70's 4 digit group as it includes a good few numbers we do not know what to do with. May be this is a good number for this...

    Holdsworth Special. Frame number 104?

YEs, nice bike. Thanks for the number, added to database

    Holdsworth Special. Frame number 104?

Yes I think no doubt its a 531 Special as it also has the distinctive seat stay attachment to the seat lug. Looking again at the number I wonder if this is not actually the frame number at all, forget my comments on the 4 digit number, there might be another number under the paint higher up on...

1980 Holdsworth Pro SL - Retro Build

Up at the local, New, track our club was asked for some riders to do a photo shoot to promote winter cycling. I took the SL and was the only one kitted up in winter gear so got some good shots. The night was 'COLD' last Thursday in Nov. the others were freezing! I also finished my mileage target...

I am sure someone will recognise this, good to see the number.

    Lug less Frame Crack

Yes given a quick look over, seems sound enough, will check again once the paint is off. There was also a fair size dent in the down tube which I tried to pull out with a brazed on bolt, then heat and rolling it between the jaws of a vice; hence the scratch marks. After that I filled the rest...

    Lug less Frame Crack

Yes its 1948 original and quite light; going to be a retro, more like the Pro SL done previously, so not overly fussed about how the repair looks. Target weight is 6.5kg, but I am struggling to get there, current estimate is 6.7Kg. It will give me a very light fixie to go with the Pro for club...

CLAUD BUTLER ‘COMPETITOR’ BY HOLDSWORTH – 1981.

Well with those cable eyes on the top tube I would go with the 80's option above. If that's correct it should have a 6 digit number starting with Zero. Its not unusual for the zero to be badly stamped and the paint getting into it which can make it look like a 1, I have seen that before. Can you...

    Lug less Frame Crack

Bought this CB International path a while back. While working on it I found a crack in the seat tube which got worse while removing the remains of a stuck stem. Not sure what can be done without getting the complete tube replaced so had a go first. Cut out the damage and brazed in a replacement...

    Claud butler frame number enquiry

I would agree looks like 1940 build, that year they broke slightly from the typical numbering system. In the 30's & 40's the first digit signified the year and the second digit, or two, the month. But in 1940 the number would have started with 0, i think they decided to start this particular...

Basic paint work done, now for the lining. I'll do that latter as too much else on.

    1930's Holdsworth Stelvio Frame?

Painted the frame, which should have been simple being black. Getting to cover the copper plate was a bit of a problem and then the paint reacted with the primer and acted as a paint stripper. Not really sure what the problem was unless there was some residue from the platers? Anyway its covered...

CLAUD BUTLER ‘COMPETITOR’ BY HOLDSWORTH – 1981.

Ha! Yes I think CB was always going to play second fiddle once Holdsworth got hold of them. Although to be fair there was always a CB alternative to most/all Holdsworth models. Its does seem the Pro and Mistral got these TT eyes first so you can read across to the equivalent CB.

    Claud butler frame number enquiry

I don't think its A, B or C, but D a CB number from 1958, Dec in this case. I am sure you have seen this before Peachy, this is a group Doug discovered and we have several in the database, this now being the highest number for that month.
