We're into Autumn proper now -- three days of incessant rain followed by a nice clear day, but strong gusty winds. That said, it was very good to be out on the bike for an hour.

I think it is. I contacted the seller to see if the serial no. was listed here -- he says it is. And he's decided to hang onto the bike!

You watch the internet for years (four in my case) and a Hei Hei in a rideable size, in the same country, comes up when you're broke and can't buy it! Looks like a decent bike, doesn't appear to be a scam. No serial number shown though. Hope this link works...

Some further progress: ordered some very fancy tyres -- Rene Herse Rat Trap Pass 26 x 2.3. I wasn't really taken with the tan sidewalls, but it was the only version available at the time, so there you are. The chain is currently marinating in degreaser while I look for the singlespeed...

If you're not a poor man when you start out in this hobby, you will be after a couple of years . . . (And the Condor is lovely . . . someone may just pony up the asking price for that)

Minor update -- fitted the new stem, which was the first quill version I've ever done. It's not hugely different from the longer one but I can feel the difference in riding position which is the desired effect.

Looks like a really nice project. I like the grinder solution for the stuck crankset, too.
