You got it, I will keep you in mind ! Going to fix it up /swap a few cleaner parts in and see how it rides. Catalogue states largest is 20.5"
..actual measurement is 21" C-T and short effective TT = 22"
Thanks Roy ! I was donating some parts to a local cycling organization and found that Avalanche in a heap...feared it might find its way into the metal recycle bin.
Picked up this crusty 88 Avalanche and succeeded in seized seatpost removal with brutality and
Fluid Film ....luckily the seatpost was short though the galvanic corrosion was substantial. My 88 Blizzard slope had
the same fate.
This is the stem originally found on the stock 93 Blizzard - both frame and the stem constructed "in house"
at Rocky Mountain to my knowledge. Syncros the predominant stem used otherwise.
This stem is not pretty (or Nitto quality) to my eye but if you are going catalogue spec, a needed item on...
Thanks - I was surprised by the condition of the paint also. No real history other than I just got it from a fellow who worked as
a bike mechanic in Victoria, B.C. in one of the long standing shops and he acquired it from a friend quite some time back.
No riveting details I'm afraid.
Not the pointiest but the potential for slipping off these old Cook bros. and getting a "shin full" was pretty High.
But a privilege considering the rarity of these pedals ? hahah. o_O
That's nuts ! I recall staring up into the Dream cycle rafters years ago and seeing this bike obscured by bad lighting thinking it was likely something like a Rocky / Ritchey enduro - toyo built though in the daylight it is more apparent it is something else. What a find and great to see it...
Thanks Andy, I would love a custom made one from you if you ever get around to it.
Hopefully I don't end up buying a cheaper RM full bike just for the angled seat clamp in the meantime
None the less, I will keep my eyes open for two !
Posting this for a lark as I have seen similar wanted ads for this very item that stagnate for eternity.
Might as well be asking for a RM Wedge. However, if any kind soul has one collecting dust, I am in need
for my recent 95 Altitude purchase . Thanks.
